Hi folks, did not want to hyjack the diner thread and got to thinking, when would I or you recommend a place to eat with just good ole' good fixins'?
I'l start;
Circle C Truck stop, Canadys, SC, I-95, Exit 68 in SC.
They have one of the best buffets I have seen! I get a vegitable plate pretty cheap. They say the meats are good too, I have not tried them. (Not a vegitarian, just prefer their veggies!)
Open 24 hours, however the buffet is more like 6AM for breakfast to around 8PM.
Continuing south on I-95, Midway, GA, exit 76, El Cheapo Truck Stop, it is just a grill with the best fish and chicken tenders around. I can get 4 heaping veggies for $3.99 including tax!
Lambert's Cafe "Home of the throwed rolls" Sikeston, MO! http://www.throwedrolls.com/ (http://www.throwedrolls.com/)
exit 67 off I-55, Sikeston, MO
need I say more! ;)

Pewaukee WI. which about 15 miles west of Milwaukee. Right along I-94 and Hwy. 164 there are 2 nice restaurants: THE MACHINE SHED and THUNDERBAY GRILL. THUNDERBAY GRILL has a wide range menu and I love the ribs. THE MACHINE SHED has a farm based theme to it with also a wide range with generous portions plus, they have great breakfasts. Both of these places are owned by the same company and yes, they are a regional chain. But why should that make any difference as long as the food, service and prices are good, who cares if it's local or national?
"A Man" to BK Lamberts is the best and the host we always have is pretty good also. "Are we there yet"

Remember to mention the availability of BUS Parking.
Harris Ranch, on I-5 near Coalinga, CA, about half-way between SF & LA.
Plenty of parking - private airstrip adjacent to restaurant, park among the Cessnas!
Great Steakhouse for the "meat & potatoes" crowd.
FWIW & HTH. . .
