Title: Saw more conversions on the road this week end than usual.
Post by: Busted Knuckle on September 20, 2010, 07:49:21 AM
I saw 4-5 converted buses on my trek to Cave City, KY on Thursday. All those were headed the opposite way from me. I don't remember which ones I saw where. I know I saw 1 or 2 headed W on I-40 toward Memphis. One was a older GMC pulling a toad. On I-65 S I saw at least 2 MCIs and 1 Prevost that I know were conversions. Problem around Nashville is there are so dang many entertainer coaches around it's sometimes hard to tell the difference!

Then last night (Sunday 09/19) I passed a MCI 9 West bound on I-40 just starting out of Nashville going the same way I was.

I just got back from a trip to Cleveland / Canton Oh for a wedding. Sighted about (6) conversions, some I think were entertainers with trailers (Big Money)
Also a number of high end sticks & staples, leaving me behind....
If I stiffed any one by not waving, I was hanging on with the hills and turns of I 76 & Pa TPK.

You can always tell the entertainers by the 5 or 6 roof mount AC units.

Yep, I'm still alive and living on a small island in the Central Pacific.

I saw a MC 7 today in the shop next to George's used RV parts in Sacramento, CA. I went over and talked to the guy and asked if he was a Busnut. He said no and explained what one was. Really nice coach. He dd most of it himself including the re-configuration of the left front tool bay door and the big dent in the bay doors all the way down the left side.

He said his left front tire blew out and the bus went into a guard rail on Hyw 80 last week going 70MPH. They are fixing it and doing a good job. When the first jolt hit it one of 14 of his Trojan batteries broke free from the rack they were bolted into was slammed into the corner of something one side touch the other and it shorted out and blew his freedom 3,000.00 inverter and 6 other batteries. Man what damage there was to those. He seemed to be Ok with the good insurance he had and was getting it all taken care of.

e said last time it was in the shop somewhere someone broke in and stole the motor out of it and they put in an older one. He said lucky he had the serial number and new it wasn't his because the boys are still in Jail that did it. I had a great time talking to him and getting good info from a seasoned bus owner.

I wonder how many "undocumented" bus conversion owners there are out there on the roads? There oughtta be law that they have to have documented status!  ;D

Quite a few from what i have seen. I almost always ask people if they are on any of the boards and find that there are a lot of them that don't even have computers, or if they do have one, don't use it that much. Even a fair number of people at some of the rallies we have attended aren't on the boards.

Ed,

I have found the same to be true.

We should be seeing more down South here soon....Just need a cold snap to kick them in the butt.
