Why wouldnt you use the air system? Just curious, I thought thats what all the bus guys used?

I think that most bus conversions use the airbags, since they are there anyway.  Some buses don't use air bags in the first place, and some people want greater range off adjustment than the roughly 3" up and down that the bags would give you.  For them you could install hydraulic ram type systems like the big Class A motor-homes use.  They can be pretty automatic, and they can even lift the tires off the ground, handy for changing a flat.

If you do use the air bags, there are two types of systems.  You can get valves that bypass the stock height control and add/remove air directly to the suspension, or you can get electrically controlled servo-rods that vary the length of the pushrod that connects the stock height control valves to the axles, and change the level that way.  With an MC-7, the rear of the bus controls height and side to side level, while the front only controls height, if the system is still stock.

Moose, I just lie to the air leveling valves at their anchor point by using a 8 inch long hinge and moving it with a Morris cable from a remote lever..just adjust anchor point (move) and the leveling valves will respond to either raise or lower..return to neutral position for trip down road..does not depend on extra valves and switches...Bob
