I am converting a MCI-9 with the R&M Fiberglass Renassiance Conversion Kid. They sent some taillight lenses off of a Ford Van. RiI got into this two to three years ago and marked the wires, but due to health issues I have been unable to work on it for several years and now I can't read the markings on the tape that marked the original wires.
I am trying to figure out what bulbs I need to use for each of the three sections of the taillight and how many wires will go to each section.
Question 1 - About Turn Signals
Right Hand turn lamp will be circuit 45. It is yellow/red. ---- Left Hand turn lamp will be circuit 44. It is yellow. --- Warning Lights are circuit 45B. It is yellow/red.
Will the "Right Turn Signal" be Circuit 45 and a ground? Will the "Left Turn Signal" be Circuit 44 and a ground? What bulb # will be used for the turn signal?
Question 2 - About Flashing / Warning Lights (Circuit 45B)
Do I need to run it to my turn signals, or is it jumped in the box?
Question 3 - About Backup Lights - (Circuit 46G)
Are my backup lights a simple hot ground - from one side to the other?
you can email me info at Loraknight@aol.com if it would be easier to respond.
Question 4 - About Brake/Taillights - (Circuit 17 - taillamps red/black - Stop Lamp = Circuit 24 - green/yellow)
My thinking is that I need a three wire socket. Two hot contacts on the bottom of the bulb and ground on the side of the bulb, and hook the taillights on one of the hot contact wires, and the brake lights on the other hot contact wire, and then ground the bulb through the ground wire which makes contact with the side of the bulb. If this is correct and it is a 24 volt system can anyone give me the part number for the bulb?
Tail/Brake light bulb: BA15d Base,Double Filament,Double Contact,Offset Tangs, #1662
