It doesnt get easier, some days it gets harder. Last year about this time I realised we might have taken a picture of the WTT's in 1975. We were on a family vacation around the eastern US, I was 16 and did all thedriving. While in NY we boated around Manhatten Island. Saw the statue, the bridge, but I couldnt recall seeing the towers. I started digging through boxes and found the album. Probably hadnt looked at those pictures in over 15 years. Paging through, oh yeah, theres the boat, theirs the dock, theres thebridge, and, yeah, we had a picture. They were new then, just opened.

I got the feeling living in Minnesota after 911, that for people who have never been out east or been to NY, it maybe just didnt effect them like it did to me. Its not as personal of a thing that hurt them. For me those buildings were a part of my country, for others they seem something somewhere else. Some place that wasnt as important as home.

My wife was in Hawaii long ago. She stood looking down at the Arizona. She said it just never meant a damn thing to keep hearing about it every Decemebr 7, until you stood there over the grave of so many men, watching blobs of oil coming up, and knowing some of them your probably related to, or know someone who was.

We were staying in a room on the beach just south of Tampa when it happened. I was just outside of the room watching my grandson play in the sand. Ken was working and I was there with my then 4 yr old grandson. One of the groundskeepers came by and said what a shame. I asked him what he was talking about, and he told me. I went in the room and turned the tv on, the first tower was burning. I stood there in horror, and fear watching it all take place. Immediately, I wanted to ck on my kids back in Colorado. I was wishing they were there with me, and wondering if this was the beginning of war, here in the U.S. I dont know how anyone could be anything but horrified. I think that after that America opened its eyes. But, I dont know that they are staying open. As time passes, I am afraid it will just be a distant memory. I sure hope not.

This is what we are flying over at Eagles International.

I know I'll never forget that horrible day. It is the day that our generation lost our innocence, much as the previous generation did with Pearl Harbor. And just like them, we should Always Remember. That doesn't mean that we can't heal. Just that we should always know that things like this can happen and we need to keep a weather eye out for it.

My heart aches for all who died that day and in all the days since because of that senseless act.

Thousands in the buildings as they fell, hundreds of first responders and clean up crews who have lost their lives and will continue to die as a result of the toxins.

Thousands of U.S. service men and women and hundreds of thousands of Afghanistan and Iraqi soldiers and civilians alike who have perished in the aftermath of the attack.

May we someday reach a place where their losses were not in vain.

I was learning to fly out of a dirt strip near Becker Mn. back in 1998-99. Becker is in Sherberne County, where they held Moussaoui after he was arrested in 2001. He was locked up at the County Courthouse in Elk River. The summer of 99 I remember a guy who's plane we worked on, a retractable gear Cessna 185  IIRC. The owner was middle eastern, and the plane had large camera ports in the door and floor. He said he worked for a company that photograped residences and sold the pictures to the owners. Ya'll wouldnt know this, but the Monticello Nuclear Reactor was only 6 miles away from our little airport, Becker Coal Power Plant was about 4 miles away, and they are about the same distance to Elk River.

As the years pass I wonder about all that more and more. Were those guys on the up and up, or were they part of what happened on 911. Did I meet Moussoui and not know it? Were they photographing the Plants? Other sites? Two years later after 911, I wasnt putting two and two together. That took a while. Now as I look back I feel I should have been paying more attention, thinking more clearly. But no one will ever convince me our Government or our President had anything to do with what happened that day, and I get very angry at any suggestion of it.

I woke up today not thinking about it, not even really knowing it was "today". It just seemed like Saturday. But as the day goes by, its bothering me more and more. It makes me angry. I hope each of you able to find some peace today, somehow. Sorry for saying all this here.

I was on duty at our Fire Department and watched in horror as so many of my brother & sister Firefighters, Paramedics and Police lost there lives. It still brings a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye every time I think out it.  I was also on duty the day of the OK City bombing,  Jack

Mike, that song gets to me every time I hear it. Certainly makes you think. I hope we all learned a lot about the world and ourselves, and what is really important in this life. Even though I was already an adult, I think that day was when I REALLY grew up. We all really did lose our innocence on that day.
