Title: Fuel price map
Post by: John316 on September 09, 2010, 05:07:55 PM
I have seen some of you all mention a website that has a map, or a list, of fuel prices. I didn't bookmark it, when I should have. Can somebody share?

Thanks.

John

The Flying J web site will give you a quick idea on the prices between states.  They are not the cheapest around, though.

I use Diesel Boss.com for truck stops and Gas Prices-MSN Auto for all other possible places.

I use all 3 MSN, Gas Buddy and Diesel Boss! I also check Flying J although we rarely use them anymore since they have gotten more expensive and now don't honor the agreement we had with them allowing us to write checks @ cash price! (told us we had to apply for a Pilot check chashing card and Pilot will not respond to us! SO we take our $ where it is welcome!)

Where is a better place than Flying J to get better prices on fuel?  I will miss Flying J for the propane though.  (I guess I can still stop for propane, but that means two stops.)

Brian just about anywhere! Flying J gambled big time when they bought a bunch of over inflated oil several yrs ago. Then they almost lost everything until they made a deal with the devil ah Pilot!
Their prices are higher than T/A & Petro now in most places! All of your little express fuel stops beat their prices big time! Also you can beat the J's propane prices by stopping at a propane dealer and getting it filled from their bulk tank!
FWIW look at all 3 sites listed above!

Thanks for the info, folks. That is exactly what I needed, and was looking for. Now maybe I won't overpay for fuel.

God bless,

John

John,
I really like both the MSN page where I can follow my route and see what prices are along the way or near where my buses will be and the gasbuddy.com page too! The trick to the gas buddy page is to click on the state you wanna check out, then click on the main page for that state and it's come up showing a chart of lowest to highest prices across the state! At the top you select diesel and wa-la there ya go! Here is an example of MO right now!

There is only one propane place even remotely local here that will fill by the gallon.  Everyone else charges a flat rate of around $18 to fill a 20 pounder no matter how empty or full.  Flying J's price is also a dollar less per gallon.

I used to be very loyal to Flying J, but I will probably try some other places this time.
