Hey guys, this is another bus I'm lightly considering in the phoenix area. The engine is the only thing that worries me as per the picture. They don't know how many miles it has or the paperwork/history. Anybody know what kind of tranny is on here? Also, do you guys know of any problems with these? Thanks!!

Looks like a 4104. That makes a 6/71 and a 4 speed.
uncle ned
Not a bad looking '04 from the limited pictures.. I would sure give it a serious look.

Get the VIN from the owner and we can tell you a whole lot more!
It should be PD4104-XXXX
And to answer your question, that's a non-synchromesh, 4-speed manual transmission.
That chassis is one of the classic workhorses of the intercity bus industry - dead simple to work on, no electronics to futz with, and extremely reliable with GOOD preventative maintenance.
Also, LOTS more basement storage space than the Fishbowl you're also considering.
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
Awesome, thanks guys. I will def go look at this thing and get a mechanic to go if i can. Luckily the owner is trying hard to sell the thing for medical bills, so i should be able to get it for cheap if she checks out!

A little more $ than the one you posted but if the info is verifiable a very decent looking bus with all the toys (inverter etc..) also further away but getting it home is a trip in and of itself.
I have a bunch of pictures of this one too. SUPER clean. My favorite part is the workbench/organizer drawers in one of the lower holds.

A good friend of mine looked at the Eagle, his very own words, "It's not a very good coach". I did modify what he said a little! ;)
But, like everyting else, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Thats a pretty nice Bus for the money. The other one didnt hold a candle.

Are you talking about the one in Az or the one in Canada?

This is a nice place to look, but note that all but Christy Hick's ad are a year or more old. They have ads dated all the way back to 2006. I would hope that most of these have sold. If not, I would hope the owners will accept a lot less with today's economy.
