Guys...and gals, I was thinking over the weekend of how far I've come on my bus. I'm nearing another anniversary of the purchase of the beast, Sept 13 to be exact.
In the time since I acquired my bus I've not gotten nearly as far as I had planned and hoped. Real life keeps intruding, nasty little things like the need to spend money on mortgage, food and clothes rather than on my bus.
Anyway, when I got my bus I knew little to nothing with it being much closer to nothing and though I'm still dangerous with my limited knowledge I've come far and it occurs to me that much comes directly from here. I've gotten encouragement in the form of reading of others projects when I wanted to quit or wondered what I got myself into. I've also gotten a whole lot of help in the form of advice both direct and via others posts.
To those who trod before me and broke a path showing the rest of us that it was indeed possible and shared their knowledge, thank you.
Can we all imagine how much harder it would be if we had nobody at all who had done it before us to share tips?
I know that I've annoyed a few on here and a few more than a couple have annoyed me as well though mostly I don't really hold grudges and especially online in a faceless forum where I can't see or hear the voice. Some of the people who annoy me also are the ones who have been helpful to me by sharing their knowledge in their posts.
I would like to think that someday I can help someone else and have tried here and there to share my experiences with my bus though mostly not in the pubic forum, usually in private but I do want to say again thank you to everyone for all of the support and help!

A well deserved post.. I totally agree.. I've learned so much from these bus conversion veterans and I still have much more I hope to learn. One day I hope that I can be the one offering help instead of just receiving it. There are a lot of ideas and advice posted here that helps a lot of people including myself. I too say Thank You to the members of this board for all the tips, ideas, advice, and help that so many seem to offer.
I agree full heatedly! Without a significant mechanical background, I would say this board has saved me thousands of dollars worth of mistakes! I find myself coming to the board to review opinions before purchases. One recent example includes the discussion on refrigerators. I read all the posts and then made a totally different decision than originally thought out.
I can honestly say that should this board, and another similar to it, discontinue providing access to true bus conversion experts, I will sell my unit and take up a new hobby.
Thanks again for all past, present and future posts!

There are many unsung hero's on this board and some that I've heard sing that shouldn't have lol. Many on the board devote hours each day to helping others with problems, either mechanical or otherwise, some have driven hundreds of miles to help get another busnut back on the road, all have mourned the passing of spouses, or other family members that they may not have even met but they realize the importance of that person, there is even a small section of the board devoted to the past members that were held in such esteem and have passed on. I would feel safe in saying that everyone here has been touch in some way by the kindness and caring nature of the membership here, I would encourage any that haven't taken the time to attend a ralley yet to do so, kick a few tires, lie about your fuel mileage and make some friends that will stick with you the rest of your life. I've had the pleasure of meeting many here over the years and am proud to be a small part of the bus community.
One guy here even woke up from surgury to find a couple of busnuts waiting, now that would scare anyone, maybe he figured he had gone further south than he had planned lol.

I've calculated mine as being around 20-25.
