never ask dish and been doing it for years...for $5 a month you can get a additional receiver from Dish....when setting up just enter zipcode location on set up menu.and your good to go...or just use cable free at most parks..

When we signed up with DirecTV, we ordered 3 receivers. When asked where they would go, we said "living room, bedroom, and shop office". Shop office receiver was then placed in coach before our next trip and has been there since. The $5.00 per month extra for the 3rd receiver was worth it for us rather than constantly moving a receiver (We use our coach at least once a month).  Just our way, YMMV  Jack

Matt,I have the Dish 500 and the stand that goes with your bus I forgot to give it to you,the only problem you will run into with Dish if you have your phone service cut off at home and the receiver is plugged into the line they still get you for 5 bucks bring your receiver with you I have the rest of the stuff and will show how it hooked up it is simple on that bus.
She belongs to you now and and maybe a in motion in is in the future but it never was going to happen on my watch I bought 2 of those and each time sold the units, roof airs and domes on the top never was going to happen and I was never jealous of anybody that had one   lol

good luck

Hey Matt, Sounds you had one and didn't know it! ;D

You better get it before it's too late and ends up somewhere in Idaho! ;)

We just sat ours up for travel. We have Direct, when you travel a certain distance from your home location you will loose your local network stations. You have to apply for a waiver to get distant network service  (DNS). With that you will get East & West coast network  feeds ( NY & LA) , it's $14.50 or $14.95 a month extra. Seems to be working good for us.  Good Busin'   Wilbur

They rarely ask me anymore where I'm going to place the receivers since I chewed one of them out saying it was none of their concern where I put each receiver, one would be here, another there and another over there though I wasn't sure yet which would finally go where (they are all the same so did it matter to me ;D ). I asked if they'd like me to call them back and let them know when I finally made up my mind and that was pretty much the end of it with only some minor lecturing. Now I just tell them I don't know which one is where but they are all here and when we've had to replace one I give them the unit number\card number and all is fine.

I've only had a phone hooked up on any of them for maybe a month or two out of as long as we've had direct tv which was almost from the start. We pay for three and I'm probably going to get another so that we only have to carry one receiver in and out of the bus.

I have the signal strength meter for aiming etc but I really hate aiming a dish! How do you guys do it manually? Always a PITA for me.

If you have dish network don't let them know you put one in your RV or they will shut your second one off and will not turn it back on even when you get home.   Know from experience.   Direct doesn't care where I have my second receiver.   Direct is easy to setup with a strength meter just make sure it is level.
