Daughter building new house and they wrapped frame with a foam wrap allot like used under floating wood floor..would that be a good backer over insulation between bus wall and interior finish?would it act as a thermal barrier? Thoughts ,opinions.. goal heat with match cool with Ice cube...Bob
hi bob i used rodex its foil on one side white on other i used on whole roof & ribs then foam bourd
i like it after i had 1/2 the roof done with the rodex only the next day it was cool the unfinished part was hot to the touch

Tim not the same..The house wrap is foam in appearance about 1/4 inch thick....will post type later..going dumpster diving at their building site to scrounge up some to use..there is a large rollback dumpster full of left over building materials...big house(new) seams wasteful to me..this material just caught my attention.
House wrap is usually designed to be permeable to water but to resist air movement. It needs to let the house breathe moisture out, the vapor barrier is on the internal surfaces. Not sure of insulative value but there are some decent advances in insulation technology these days, for sure.
after further inspection Brian is rite...got a bunch of it so going to use up..pickup load of blue foam insulation and house wrap..that house wrap is tough stuff...noticed the roof decking has a foil faced inside(printed on it says reflective surface) roof exposure...going to get bunch of cut offs on next trip. Guess I'm learning allot by some of the new to me home building materials we can use on our coaches...Bob
Won't that stuff let moisture from the cabin through and trap it between it and the skin of the bus? Could end up with a rust/mold/mildew/rot problem maybe?
