Just got my September HF sale catalog in the mail today, and on the back by the mailing label they have a coupon for the above-mentioned tool, for $29.99 with the coupon, whereas the regular price is $59.99.
Since it's been commented on over and over again on this and other BBS's that this handy goodie should be part of everyone's tool stash, I thought I'd share this opportunity for fellow busnuts to pick one up and save a few bucks.
Reading the fine print, it says the coupon can be used in a store, with a catalog order form, or online.
For those who haven't gotten the catalog, or don't have access to a store, here's the info:
Lot No. (Part no.) 96451.
Cen-Tech Non-Contact Laser Thermometer.
Bar Code coupon number (to get the discount) 37301892.

Happy Shopping!
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
I have a Craftsman and I've seen these and wondered if they are all the same. Does anyone have experience? I'd like another.
Good catch RJ, I paid $100 for my Fluke! :-[
It's a must tool to have, I use it all the time! 8)
I have a Blue point that is about 5 years old and sometimes i don't know how i worked without it!! It's great for checking engine temps, Hub temps and tires! Along with the 50 million job related things i use it for :)
FWIW guys on buses you are shooting so many different products( materials) and colors you need a gun with a adjustable or automatic emissivity feature and if you have a turbo engine it needs to read 1400 degrees.
I bought the Extech 42515 model with the probe and that is a good feature also for reading actual temps for grease, oil, water and the batteries paid 129.00 bucks from www.calright.com (http://www.calright.com)
I wanted the model 42545 but was a little pricey for me and watching Doyle throw his HF across my shop floor I don't think he liked it very much lol
good luck
RJ Good call . I was just looking at a Neiko on Amazon which went as high as -52 to 1022 degree F but ws $37.50 plus shipping. I can go just around the corner to HF and pickup this one. SCORE!!!
Thanks Dave
$29 at homo depot for a ryobi works great only 1 or 2 degrees off.
I have one it works fine. Sure there are others out there that feel better built. Mine read within a degree or so of a much more expensive Snap-on IR gun when we tested them on lycoming/continetal heads.
I got one a few months ago for $24 (don't forget the 20% coupon as well!). Works fine for occasional non-critical use. Like everything from The Store We Love To Hate, caveat emptor. Some stuff is garbage, some is OK, and a few items are quite good.
John
I have an HF one, does everything I need to do. Some one should do another post on uses for an IR gun. Everything from canning apple sauce to zoo pooh. Don't know how I lived without one. JIm
