Bob,

I ran 1X4's fore and aft, attached to the overhead cross members and since they are 3/4, I put the rigid foil covered foam board in between.

The wood doesn't transfer the heat or cold well.  Just got to break that metals access to the interior.

i used felt weatherstripping over the framing and also some garage door rubber weather stripping that had 2 way tape on one side. My ceiling was to low to go the extra wood stringers.

I did nearly the same as Florida cliff Rigid foam up top with aluminum faced on the bottom held up by 1x2's although i haven't hung anything up there for ceiling yet it works good for holding in the foam :)

sometimes you need to have your brain jump started..was over thinking ceiling and needed to be reminded of thermal break..I am lucky I have a raised roof.so space isn't a big problem..Thanks again for the suggestions and jump start...I needed that!   BOB
