Title: King Dome antenna
Post by: Le Mirage on August 23, 2010, 06:25:59 PM
I would like to buy a "used King-Dome antenna".
This one:

What do you think about King-Dome? It's a good deal? Do you appreciate your King-Dome? Do you have some problem with this?

Thank you!

I don't know much about King Dome so can't comment on them. We have a Tracvision LM inmotion system and love it. It keeps track of the bird in the sky and has not failed us yet.

I checked out the link you posted, but can't read French. So I can't help with that. It looks like a good price though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! ;)

Have Fun!

Thank you for your answer.

Many people buy Vineguard with satisfaction. It seems that the KingDome's dome has problem with rain. We lost signal many time...

It's true, for 550$ for a used KingDome is a deal but...if I have problem continually, that will be not deal! Actually, I have an antenna on tripod.

Thank you and I hope that you understand me... ;D

For lost signal due to rain, paint it a brillant white and use some Rain X. Do not use a metallic paint!

Dunno how they work, but put up a black one at the front and your coach will look like it's wearing a Laurel and Hardy hat.

We have a tripod but haven't used it since we got a Vue Qube. We looked into King Dome etc. but the cost and complaints from people we've talked to at rallies and campgrounds put us off those.
No it won't track but I have enough to do while driving as it is. I don't need to listen to Dr. Phil while I try to navigate through traffic.
We've had it for a couple of years and had no problems. We can set it on top of the bus or the truck, as well as on the ground anywhere it can see the Southern sky. Aiming is done with a remote, usually from inside the bus.
Wineguard has a similar portable unit that works well and is about the same cost. We paid about $700 new with a 2 year warranty.
By the way we're have Direct TV...Cable
