Are you talking about the inlet rings on the squirrel cage housings?
I need four and I have quotes of $38.71(MCI) up to $78.50 EACH!!!!

That can't be right.  They are simple rings made of rubber.

Fred Hobe uses metal rings on the fan intakes.

Clifford,

Mohawk is probably considerably than any shop price.
I say that knowing that Luke and JD at C&J  need our business to keep theirs open.
Otto from Mohawk is really helpful and courteous

QuoteFred Hobe uses metal rings on the fan intakes.

I looked at Fred's site and thought about the metal rings.

The way the rubber rings are made they provide a seal between the metal frames and the housings.  If I used the metal ones I would have to make some type of gasket to fill that space.  Not really a big problem.

The other thing is the rubber ones are sort of curved on the intake.  I assume it is to give a venturi affect to draw in the air? Not sure if it is a big deal or not. All I know is that the OEM ones seem rather high priced.

OEM are high priced! We broke down several yrs ago and spent the big bucks and bought them from MCI! If I had to do it over, I'd either find another source of fabricate something like Fred does!
;D  BK  ;D

In my opinion (which with $3.00 will buy you a cup of coffee) the new OEM pieces don't really make a huge difference over the busted up old worn out hardened ones we replaced.
