we have tankless elec 220v in my house and love them but what about 110v for the bus ?
saw these for boats Eemax ex3012m tankless water heater 3000 watts 120 volt 25 amps
anyone using anything like this ? good or bad thanks crown
will be watching this one...have had same thoughts...Why not? less space required is a plus...Bob
We have on installed in the new bus. Have ran the water through it, hopefully it works out good.
I don't think you will find that acceptable. It is rated at 40 degree rise at 0.5 gpm and 20 degree rise at 1.0 gpm. A low flow shower head is about 2.5 gpm.
At 3 kw, that unit is about 10,000 btu's. I have a gas tankless at home rated at 140,000, btu's and it works great. I'm in Florida and I'm not sure how well even that unit would work up north with 40 degree water coming in.
I have one at home and love it. Silva is right about the flow rates. If you get one rated under the flow rate then your not going to be happy.
Ours is only to supply certain areas. We have a regular water heater also, but it is working fine for what we put it in for.
what i have at home is 12000 watt and i have high water pressure so when it was installed they put two ball vavles on it to slow it down
and its hot . now the boat one is only 3000 watt but the bus has all 3/8 lines that i think would help some ? the rv gas / elec ones are
3000 watt but thats a 7-10 gal tank type would like to known more as they are compact crown
We have 3 installed one for kitchen sink, one for bath sink, the other for shower. They work well but you must control the water flow, "1/2 gal per min." any more and you have cool water. Really not a problem if boondocking as you learn to conserve water. we use a kitchen sink spray handle for shower head flow is around 1/2 gal per min and gives a decent shower also the heaters have adjustable flow control devices internally for super cold water you will need to slow the flow even more, another plus heaters are installed within 6" of the outlets so no waste waiting hot water and a lot less water piping as you only need one cold line throughout to heaters. (these are 110v units) When in cold climates the webasto heater keeps the water tanks warm works well
Sizing is important and it can be too big as well as too small. I have a 120 volt tankless water heater in my house. I bought one that is too big for the job. In the summer the water is too warm for the water heater to maintain a constant temperature in the shower. It will cycle off for a few seconds which douses the showeree with a few seconds of cold water. It is a real eye opener.

Our last bus had a Paloma propane instant water heater, and I liked that. Even with that, flow was limited but acceptable. We had an Eemax used for a hand sink at one place we lived. It required a special restricted aerator to limit flow. It was okay for that purpose. I suppose one could use it for a very water thrifty shower, but I do not think we would find it adequate.
We have a tankless propane heater and we love nice showers, there is a 5.7 gal pump
