This is a GREAT rally. We always do both (bring a side AND a donation) Still by far the cheapest rally you will ever attend. Jack

It's a good thing you don't always get what you pay for. ;D ;D ;D
For those that don't know, Jack & Paula attended the first non rally & were kind enough to offer the benefit of their experiences with hosting rallys.
Then there is Ed & Ann Galant - always there in the background helping out in ways I never knew - until afterwards.
There are many others who help out so much, it is the people attending that make this rally a success.
I'm so looking forward to it!
Kyle
Be ready I think i am going to be there to kill the big mosquitoes for you. "HUGGY" started up today for the first time in a while. Ready and rearing to run.
Look forward to seeing every one.
uncle ned
We plan to be there unless dirt covers my face. I will have my DR drive me if if I have to, lord knows he owes me for the Porsche payments I have made. Glen rice, I am counting on you as well. I'm already grinning.

Jack there used to be a cheaper one in W. TN but we lost that property to I-69 ;(
there were no Rally fees or camping fees. (But we didn't have very nice parking places or facilities either)
But we didn't charge for the wrecker service either ;)

Yeah, big deep water! See you and Paula there! And 'Huggy Bear'....and Gary... ;D
What's the dates Kyle? I just looked at the calendar and didn't see Palmetto Cove listed...? Probably missed it. I like to ax questions first and research later...so now I'll go thru this thread...
Talked to Dave Lang and he's indicating he and Carol will be there.
JR
JR, good to hear from you!
From the first post on this thread
"Mark your calendars
October 4th thru 10th (early arrival & staying later is welcome)" ;D
Glad to hear Dave & Carol will be there. Dave will be happy to hear I've decided to go with a 450hp 8V92 in mine. Now, all I have to do is find enough parts to put one together. 8)
Good morning Kyle
Good to see you hard at work. Just one month till we gather. Hope nothing else happens so we all can be there.
uncle ned
some one has to get there early to kill all the mosquitos.
Sounds like you will have a successful Non-Bus Rally again Kyle, Our busnut family is getting tighter and look forward to spending more time together. I am still having a terrible time with darn Vertigo, going to DR. Today for who know what else is next. I appreciate the offers to drive our rig up there if needed and I will surely take advantage of these offers if necessary. Thanks again, I will let you know days before our weekend party.
Drive Safe you guys, so glad Jack & Paula, Ned and Wilma, Jr & Terri, Dave & Carol, Ed & Ann and all the others that responded will again be there. Hard to remeber everyone, please don't feel left out, As it won't be long now. Hopefully I can give that Kyack of mine a test run with you Jack. Hope you understand if for some reason I cannot, dizziness sucks!!
Gary
Good morning Gary
Good to see you up and moving around. Getting old is tough but all our busnut friends make it worth while.
uncle ned
Ned,
What day you going to get there and fog the area? I'll leave the Harley in the trailer until you shut down !!!! ;D
I plan on coming up on the 4th need some mountain air!!
Ed
Ed good to hear from you also. If you are bring the "HARLEY" I might have to get the old honda out also.
Has not been started in several years.
Don't know yet what day we will show up but will let you know.
uncle ned
Hey Ed,
Any chance you can bring some parts off that marine 8V92 you were talking about?
I could use a pair of heads, blower & turbo. ;D
Kyle,
Waiting on them to get that boat out of the water and the wood/fiberglass guys to cut a hole in the rear bulkhead for the engines to get out!
I am going to be right there probably helping my friend get those puppies out. I am hoping to get them for scrap price. Don Fairchild has first dibs if I can get them and he wants to come this far.If not from what I have been told they are good for parts not seperate 8v92.Heck we might have to put a 16v92 in one of yours.
See Ya soon,
Ed
Ed, I've considered installing a V16.
Would probably be best to put the engine in the bays to keep the drive shaft length reasonable. Then I'd have a rear garage!
With a mid mounted engine, I could drive both rear axles - WOO HOOO! I could do an 8 tire burnout! 8) Then I wouldn't have to worry about date codes on the drive tires. ;D
I would have to be concerned about making it to the next fuel stop tho . . . . :o
Naaa, I'll stick to conventional for the first one anyways. . . .
It's getting close. Show of hands, who all is going? (Raising my hand) We plan to arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. JacK
PS: Kyle, can ya'll order some rain BEFORE for the rally so there will be enough water in the Saluda?

Kyle, we are trying to make it...getting a new roof on the house we hope next week.

Well, we won't be there, I have been batteling pnumonioa and flu for over a week now and still don't know when I am back to work. Just not in the cards this time.
We absolutely HATE it!
Jack-N-Dianne
Jack,
Hope ya'll get to feeling better. Maybe some speedies chicken in December a little bit south of Arcadia, FL? Jack
Hi Jack, is there a meal where they would go well as 'horse'A'Duvers'?
Jack

Hi Jack, is there a meal where they would go well as 'horse'A'Duvers'?
Jack
Absolutely!! Jack
Jack, lets put it another way, if used as a main course it takes one third pound of chicken per person, assuming 250 folks in Arcadia, that's about 75 pounds of chicken. Or are you thinking as a side of sorts?
Jack
Jack that's nothing! One year recently the main meal consisted of a HALF chicken for each person! The concensus was, it was a little greasy but it was still good eating!
Actually, Jack, I was thinking about a place 12 miles south of Arcadia (Lightning C Ranch) and a much smaller group. I would not expect you to try to make Speedies for 250-300 people. Jack
Jack, I know that place, it's nice, gots good folks there too!
Can do!
Jack
Kyle,
We attended the SE Busnuts Rally at Palmetto Cove last spring. We enjoyed the people, area and buses so much that we are coming back for the Fall - rally that is. Carole made our reservations today. 8) Just heard about it on Saturday. Yeah I've not been hanging around here as often as I should. What's up with that legalese mumbo jumbo to re-register? Next thing you know we will be paying "property taxes!" >:(
How hard would it be for someone to get in for just a day without bringing their bus? Are visitors allowed to mingle around a few hours or is it just for registered guest?

Hiway, hop in or one whatever will get you there you will be welcomed with open arms!
(and I ain't even been or gonna be there!)
;D BK ;D
I have driven the bus just to visit (and it needed driving) but couldn't attend. This year three of my neighbor's are planning on coming for sat afternoon/evening festivities. I'm trying to talk one into driving his sunbeam up.
Anyway they see my bus more than I do :)

Bringing your bus is not required, heck, I'm not bringing mine - the landoll bill would be too high ;D. So, I'll be in my tin turd.
Day visitors are welcome.
We will be sharing meals with the Airstream group like we did last year - will be fun.

Thankfully the re-registering is a 1 time thing to re-explain & clarify the forum rules - you know how it is, all it takes is 1 bad apple to spoil the basket . . . .
Now that you're back, stick around & straighten some of us out! ;D :D 8)
It is almost upon us
Kyle,
We plan to arrive on Wednesday. I am hoping to connect with some of the Foothill Paddlers and do the Lower Green one day before leaving the Greenville area. See ya' wednesday. Jack
Kyle, I'm here where is everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to do a little harley riding till the crowd gets here. This is good weather can enjoy riding .
The party begins!!!!
Ed
Kyle,
We will be bringing a brocolli salad for the potluck. As before help with clean up is not a problem either. We won't be arriving until Friday afternoon late, but get there we will.
Do you have any other food items that we can pick up on the way? Condiments perhaps, ketchup, mustard, relish, shreded cheese? Let us know and we will get it.
Thanks,
Will & Carole Garner
The party has began! Gary, Ed,, Mike, Dave, myself and are wives had a nice visit sitting around Gary's Fire Dancer campfire. Jack
Hey, Kyle, Jack, everyone......Greetings from Nebraska.
I don't think we are gonna make it. :'( We are in Red Cloud, Nebraska. I am getting lonesome though. We have been on a 1400 mile road trip and I have seen nary a bus conversion on the road. Only conversions we have seen was planned. Jack and Paula in Sanford, MI and Ken in Green Bay, WI. I guess everyone who is anyone is at Palmetto Cove ;D
I hope there will be plenty of people to help me eat these two boxes of burgers I will be coockikng for lunch. :)
The fat lady has left the building. :'(
There were 17 units in attendance. ;D
There were several busnuts who stopped by on Saturday for a few hours. (Eric, your Eagle is now nice enough to put any prevo to shame - well done! ) 8)
The food was GREAT - & the best part is I didn't have to do much as the help was terrific!
Who ever said "don't trust a skinny cook" hadn't met Delmas or Carol - Awesome 'sketti sauce!
Then there was the fellowship - best there is.
Thanks to all who attended & made this another successful NonRally. This is why I like being a busnut!
Yep. The skinny lady has left the building too! I brought her home with me.... ;)
T and me had a really good time! Perfect weather, perfect campground (thanks to Gary and the ZTR mower...story here...!), and the best eats! Even my dogs had a good time!
We cruised back with nary an issue! Topped off the bus with some of that cheap SC fuel. Gotta get ready for the Spring 'NON-Rally'! Kyle, there will be a spring rally?
Missed Ned and Wilma?! ???
JR and Terri
Great Friends, Great Food & Great Weather, what more could you ask for. It was great visiting with old friends and making new ones. I am sure no one left hungry. And to make it even better, Duke Energy released from Tuxedo Dam, so I got to run the Lower Green. Well done Kyle, we are already looking forward to next year. Jack

I believe the SouthEast BusNuts are having a Rally in April at Palmetto Cove.
Ned, since you weren't here there was nothing to diminish the gnats.
Sorry we missed the rally. We had looked forward to getting out again. But things happen.
Had to take my baby girl to duke friday. great trip down i85 and i40. 85 to 90 mph and no more than 10 feet between cars on friday afternoon. That is the one reason "HUGGY" will never be on the interstate unless there is no other way. Sorry about the gnats and mosquitos but i will be back in the spring to take care of them.
Sent ncbob down on saturday to straighten every one out. JR for sure needed it.
uncle ned
For sure, NCBob straightened out Kyle's wallet! ;)
Bob brought up some nice things for the yard sale - at least I now have a big torque wrench. ;D
I forget who it was that once said, small rallies are often better -they're a chance to get better acqainted with attendees, spend quality time, etc. This one was just that!
Thanks Kyle! We reallty enjoyed ourselves.
Mike in GA
Mike,
Thanks for all you did to help.
There is something about the quality of the company is often more important than the menu. ;D
(& it was my menu . . . :o ::) ??? )
I was waiting for this post to thank Kyle, Gary LaBombard, and Jon for their patronage to my offerings.
Kyle, I almost caved in to your offering of $20 for all that 12 ga wire but I felt Jack would be more fair at Arcadia this year.
Jackie Darling and I had a great time visiting with all our old friends and Simon was one sleepy pup on the way home.
Thanks for the great Hamburgers...lunch was great. And yes, Eric's but was THE highlight. But since I'm an OLD bus fan I still yearn for the Flexible!

Bob,
I hope you didn't give them all the bargains.
Were you wearing a mask when Kyle opened that wallet.....Hard to get all that dust off.....
Look forward to seeing You and Jackie soon....
Cliff
Cliff, I didn't see the dust but most everything after his initial purchase was destined to put me on Welfare if I'd have accepted his offer.
Eric's Eagle was the culmination of 10 years of dilligent work. A real Beauty. Hope he'll make Arcadia this year.
Don't blink your eyes, brother, it's colder'n a whore's heart up here...we might just be there before you know it!

And thanks for gettting the back of my head when I was under Kyles tent with Paula, JR, Linda LaB and Terry. But then...I'm not perfect either. But like you...my bus is!
Thanks for the pics.
