So after climbing that HUGE L O N G hill into the Blue Mtns. heading east out of Pendelton, I pulled the Ranger into the rest stop to???? well, rest. A pristene black and silver RTS GMC glided past to the truck parking area while we sat there . By glided I mean it made very little noise at all. I have never seen a prettier RTS bus and that paint job was awesome. Silver and black....Raiders fan?
I got back on the freeway right behind the RTS. The on ramp is a serious grade to the freeway level and that RTS let out a belch of black smoke like a WWII Destroyer. Took about 50 yards under throttle to clear up and then was doing no smoke stealth. Might I add that she was accellerating at a rapid clip and went right up to 65. Didn't bother the driver back at the stop cause I saw him go aft and thought he might be going for a nap.
I don't know who you were but that is a particularly sweet bus and I wonder what engine you have cause it did not make any DD 2 stroke sounds like I ever heard. Nice job!

Black and silver and nicely done sounds like Geoff's. The inspiration and aspiration of many RTS'rs.

Sounds like Geogg - with his 350 HP 6V92TA MUI - That he re-built himself (IIRC Geof is a - Detroit Diesel Master Mechanic)
It wasn't me! I'm in Arizona working on Hank's '79 RTS, number 149 with the original fastback covered by a rear cap. Intresting bus, and yes, the bulkheads ARE stainless steel.

'82 RTS AZ
Well, gee I guess I must confess!! The perfect RTS you saw was mine ;D Ive only been foolin everyone who thought I was just learnin about converting my RTS haha!!!
Dont I wish :P ::) ;)
Well, it did look like Geoff's bus....sorta. The black section went from stem to stern and the fancy swoops lines( look great by the way) weren't there. Looked to be Emron and freshly washed....like Geoff's.
Mystery....
