Ted Boothroyd has submitted an article on air brake system testing and inspection that we will be running in the August issue. One thing he didn't have to go with it was some photos. I am looking for some photos we can use. If anyone has these shots or is in a good position to take them, it would be a big help. We would include reference to the person that provided each photo in the caption. The photos need to be bright and clear. Preferably at least 1024x768 pixels in size. And they have to be your photos so we don't run into copyright issues. And we need them in the next couple days. (gee we don't ask for much do we? :o )
Here is what we are looking for:
- Slack Adjusters - preferably at a good angle for seeing them in context with the brake cans and hub visible
- Dashboard Air Pressure Gauge at operating pressure
- Air tank drains - would love to get several photos showing the different kinds of drains
Ok, to sweeten the pot I'll add a little incentive.
To the first person who gets us all three photos today, of good quality - a one year BCM subscription or subscription extension.
Look at my website, under the mechanical section of the site map. if there's anything there on the slack adjusters that you can use,
let me know. I can get a photo of air pressure gauge later and send it. We're leaving for a rally up north in a few minutes, but could
get that photo when we get there. Might be able to crawl under the bus and get some photos of the drains, also when we get there.
let me know.
Email me. I should have access when we get to Devin's.
