There is nothing else I have to do. Alot of things will get done, but there is nothing that has to be done. I started this in May of 2000. Started working on it since the day I bought it in Washington. Had to add a reciever so I could take my toad to Salem OR. where I was staying. Been working on it ever since. How many hours? I can't count that far. How much money? I quit counting June of 2003 at $38,729 (not including bus).
Low points, 2 trips to the emergency room. Became a constant companion of Murphy. Watching the price of diesel top $3. The day I had to admit I cannot do anymore large projects, my body just will not take it anymore.
High points, The people I have met and become friends with. Learned a lot of things, (I really did'nt need to know). Some of it was a lot of fun. I've done something that other people sit around and think about doing or wish they could. The ability to walk away before laughing when somebody says "this is the only way to do it".
Would I do it again? I doubt it.
Work?/Play safely Jim
OK...now where's the pix? Where do you have them posted? I've never seen a "completed" bus conversion. ;)
Cheers, JR
Congadulations!!!! It's a great feeling isn't it? All I have left is to lay carpet, make two trim panels and install the rub rails. I grouted the tile and painted the rub rails today. I should be "finished" by mid week next week. I've been working on mine since April 2002. It's going to be wierd to look at it knowing nothing "needs" too be done.
Like you, I don;t know if I'd do another one. It's sort like a lot of things in life....Glad you did it, but wouldn't do it again. I will say that if I do decide to do another one (MCI 102C3) it will go much quicker. I learned a lot on this one. What to do and most important, what not to do.

Way to go Jim,
I can't even begin to imagine that day, and the feeling of pride and accomplishment knowing I did it my way!
How about some pics!!
Congratulations !!!!
I am 7 years into this conversion and still have a long way to go. I hope to be able to start a topic such as this one day. I too have forged friendships, hurt myself, and wonder why I decided to take on such a huge project. When it is done I will be able to say " I did this", and smile with pride and satisfaction. I salute you.

Jim,
Congratulations!!! ;D
I hope you enjoy your hard work and determination to the fullest.
I will look for you out there on the road.
Happy Trails!!!

Now, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. I'm sure I share the same sentiment of everyone on this board when I say, "WE ENVY YOU!"

How do you know when your bus is done? ???
Len
Way to go Jimmy.
Hope you enjoy it for many many years. ;D
Cliff
Wow so there is hope? We are in the 3 year and about 80% done! My husband keeps changing things and has done most things at least three times. But our eagle 10 is starting to look good. We sold our MCI5A this weekend so now there is lots of incentive to finish. Mrs. RMC ( you give hope) :D

Sorry no pictures, we shall remain anonymous at the level of press, radio and bus conversion boards.
You know the bus is done when you run out of cash! You guys are so silly, who would ever run out of cash? Even if you do just go to the ATM and get more!!
