Ladies & Gentlemen, and bus nuts,
It is with extreme regret I have to tell you we just lost 3 days of posts with no way to recover them. The recent server problem that prompted the work on it 3 nights ago was resolved, but in the progress I was installing the new main website ahead of schedule. One of the new features it will have was tying into the forum membership database so that your forum login would also give you seamless access to it. During the installation process the forum database was deleted accidentally.
Normally we would have had frequent backups. But with the sudden change in servers, the backup systems weren't yet back in place. So the last backup we could fall back to was from around 1am on the 28th. All posts since then were lost as well as any new member signups on the 28th, 29th or 30th.
My deepest apologies to all for this error and especially to Grant for the loss of the thread reporting the tragic loss of his son. I do think I may have a way to recover that in some form from my own email. I will do all I can to fix that one.
Humble regrets,
Mike
I was wondering what was going on. I was beginning to thing the last three days was just some type of hallucination. I gotta get out of the heat.
Hello fellow busnuts,
I also need to add my apologies as well. Just when one thinks they have something down to a science, reality rears its head.
Normally, we do have very frequent backups - in fact they run throughout the day and night. However, I had not rebuilt all the backup jobs yet after the move. That was my next "to do" item.
So for all you who posted in the timeframe - please accept my apologies! I know how hard it is to put up those posts.
And please know that before the night is out - all backups will be in place!!
Thank you for your support,
Kind Regards, Phil
Does this mean that all the mechanical problems of the last three days never happened? Wow, I wish I had posted some of mine.
Dang, And I typed some of the most funniest, profound, and useful info ever typed on this board and now it is gone forever. :'(
I don't remember what it was though :D
Oh well, I guess you'll have to rely on BK now for those kind of things ;)
Don't worry, it Happens
Mike & Phil,
Please do not beat yourself up over this. You do a great job, meticulously plan and then things happen.
We all appreciate all your efforts.
Hey, Big Guy;
Don't worry - be happy. Stuff happens. We appreciate all you do for us!

hahaha I guess Im not really stuck in Idaho because of smoking batteries lol Thank you!!!
The trama extends much further than you realize at this time, three days ago I awoke with the seeds of great wisdom, I said to myself, "self, you must share this wisdom with the world and I said , 'ok, your right'," so I started to type, and type I did. Into the wee hours of the morning I delved into both the familiar and the unknown until I had exposed all the secrets we had been puzzling over for so long and the sky was bright, the sun was out and we felt so enlightened and all knowing, we not only understood our mysterious 2 strokes but we reveled in them, the repairs and adjustments were simple with the twist of a wrench, the secrets of life were clear to us all. But then the server barked and said, "never more my friends" and the window closed and the secrets were once again hidden in the ages and I was once again dumb as a rock, woe to me and all that were waiting for a moment of sunshine.

Welcome back to my world. ;D
Do we get a refund for the last 3 days? :)
That was just Mike's way of being politically correct, not stepping on anyones feet and cleaning up the board and blame it all on a computer glitch !!!!
Worked This time!!!! ;D ;D ;D
And you thought buss were the only thing to give you trouble. Thanks for all you guys do for the rest of us.

Well, darn. . . and I had just finished, and posted the only copy of that book I was going to write, concerning my and Larry's adventures, aptly titled: " A Series of Incidents"! :'(
Well, please everyone, tell my hubby, Larry, that I DID INDEED write that book and it's not my fault he doesn't have a copy of it on his desk yet. ;) :D
