I finished the install of my new LED S/T/T lights. I polished the old aluminum housings and used new stainless fasteners. Turned out pretty nice and for once all of my lights work at the same time! Now only if the rest of the outside looked as good.....

It was a pretty simple project since the new lights were a simple bolt on replacement. It is a 100% improvement over the original equipment. The old ones were in bad shape and not at all dependable. I have LED rep[lacement fixtures for almost all of the other exterior lighting, hope to work on them some this weekend.
I used similar tail lights on my MCI MC-5C. I found some that were 24 volts, although in hindsight I could have run them in 12 volt from my Gumpy trailer light converter. Oddly they were about 1/8" too large in diameter to fit inside the MCI housing, so I did some trimming of both the housing and the light and they fit in and look great.

Brian, I have a similar situation with my front turn signals. I need to use the original housing but I cannot find a LED fixture that mates up. I will have to modify/adapt the fixture and housing to make it work. It will be worth it, I am really liking the LED lights.
Same with MCI's, there is no LED fixture that is a direct swap. I just put new lenses on, new bulbs, and left it at that.

Hold on a minute...
Do you have a gasket made of soft material behind the LED fixtures?
If not, either add one, or replace your stainless fasteners with nylon ones.
The heat from the engine will make some expansion, and crack the mounting points on your nice LED fixtures.
A couple of the big transit manufacturers paid dearly on the warranty for this discovery...
happy coaching!
