My drivers' window has been fogged for over a year now (it's the only double pane window in the bus) and I don't want to replace it. Ye Gods! I've just gone through a gear box replacement and 2 A/C units...and I'm trying to save enough money to pay my upcoming Obama taxes.
First, is the glass tempered? If I tapped the inside glass enough to shatter it I would still have an exterior glass. Drill and hole in it with a carbide drill? Use a circular glass cutter to cut a vent in the interior pane?
I know someone of you has done this...that is if you're aqs cheap as Cliff and me. hehehe

Are you sure it is the glass that is fogged & not the driver? ;D
If it is the glass, what I'd try is to use a small diamond bit hole saw & use lots of water while drilling. I buy them off eBay for a few bucks. The spade bits never have done well for me.
Good luck with this project.
If it is tempered you might have a heck of a time breaking it. My driver's side window was single pane tempered and I had to hit it with a 10 pound sledge and all the strength I could muster to break it. It took me like 10 blows before it broke.
I checked Ebay, Kyle, and the cutters are there...but I don't see any pilot drills to hold them on cnter. This is new to me so I have to depend on the expertise of others to get this little job done right. Any suggestions?

If you want to get it fixed, try Suncoast Designers in Hudson, FL. They have the equipment to take the window apart and reseal it. Not sure of the cost....

Bob,
I just hold it at an angle & start the 'cut', then gradually raise the drill to a perpendicular position.
You aren't spinning the bit very fast, AND, you shouldn't rush the hole.
Get a bit & try it out on some scrap glass. You'll see what I mean.
Good luck with this. ;D
Bob, no kids in the area with a bb gun? ;D
