Gentlemen,
Having read the posts on this subj on the old board just a few minutes ago, I have had an awakening. Still happens! I don't know beans about batteries. It is little wonder that my house batteries dion't last more than a couple of years. I wrote it off to letting them sit without a full charge. My warranty replaces them and I really thought they just weren't that good and that I was not abusing them. My bad, as they say.
Gary Stadler and all the rest of you have turned on the lights for me. Thank You! Your post have all been informative, thought provoking, etc. Can you refer me to a book or site that has the subject covered?
Special thanks to MAK for this site and you guys for the (ow so needed by me anyway) patient help.
John

Some of the best reference material I've found regarding batteries and low voltage stuff is the two books written by David Smead of Ample Power. "Living on 12 Volts with Ample Power" and "Wiring 12 Volts for Ample Power".
http://www.amplepower.com
They were writting for the boating world, but are very applicable to the bus world.
Don't know anything about their products, nor do I have any affiliation with the author or company.
