The reorientation of my engine in installing the automatic transmission has made the squirrel cage belt too snug. We could go with a larger belt, but this also brought up the thought of installing a smaller pulley to, not only make the belt fit, but increase cooling. Does anyone have any suggestion for the pulley and a source to get one?
By the way, the current pulley is 8.5 inches and the number on it is 6F-6-2.
Take the one you have to a machine shop and have it turned to a smaller diameter and re-groove it

Thanks for the suggestions. This particular pulley is not right for machining to size. I think that since we want to get the thing on the road asap, we will just use a bigger belt for now and maybe deal with the pulley another time.
Fred Hobe, in Madison, FL, has been having smaller pulleys machined for MCI Blower systems for years.
I cannot tell you if Fred has a pulley ready for your Bus but you can PM him or just wait for him to see this thread. Fred usually reads...but doesn't talk much...unless there's something worthwhile to say.
Jack Conrad could give you Freds' phone number...it's lost from my aarchives.

Fred at C&J coach in Mpls has them 952-881-0034. I think Mohawk has them as well. Does anyone have the part # for the smaller pulley? That would be helpful in your search. My bus isn't here right now or I'd get it for you.
