Does anyone know the CFM rating of the Radiator cooling blowers on a MCI 5?
Thanks Glenn
I don't have that number right in the palm of my hand but I will check my manual and give it to you by morning.
Been visiting a friend in the hospital (75 miles away) all day and I'm really too tired to do any research.
Perhaps Fred Ward or one of the other loyal 5 drivers will come up with it first...but trust me ...you will get the answer you need.

Sorry but I don't see any info on the CFM in my parts or maintenance manuals. :(
I've never seen that number, but it's fairly high, they blow up a storm back there!

had my 5 out yesterday and didnt move past 180 is that normal, first time out since i bought it and installed the 871 ta , any input
Carl, it won't move past 180 anywhere around here, there are no 5 mile long 5% grades to climb... Also, it was moderate in temp yesterday, compared to 90 - 100 degree days. Your cooling issues will come on climbing long grades in hot weather, with the combination of the higher power from the turbo actually getting used for a stretch of time. Congrats on getting it out, btw. I finally got the sedan door installed a few weekends ago!
As I recall you have the stock 5C rads, blowers, but a hydraulic motor for the blowers. You might consider a mister, since I really think that unless you are really on the throttle your cooling system will be able to keep up.

My 5 also runs right around 180. If it starts climbing above that i start letting off of the throttle a little or downshifting my 644 to keep the rpms up around 1750-1800 to get maximum cooling effect. The most important gauges to me are the temp and tach,.....speedo is third. :)
thanks guys, and yes Brian i put hydraulic fans, and pump, completely redid the cooling system, the rads are 6 row , guess time will tell
