You most likely won't be able to buy this unless you have certification in recovery and charging HVAC equipment.
Thanks I have a friend in hvac business (local) and is a bus nut...will contact him and see if he can help me out...
Get on macsw.org pay your'e $15.00, take an open book test, get you're freon certificate and go buy some R-22. It is that easy, I just did it last year and the certificate has not been refused by anyone.

Good idea about certificate...I have gauges and worked supper market and home re fridgeration in my youth.was no rules then..
Freeze 12 is working well for me in the original over-the-road a/c.

Hi Robert,
The R-438A gas just happens to be Duponts brand and will work just fine.
I use 407-C and 417-A which are also direct drop in refrigerants for R-22.
According to my suppliers, there is enough R-22 around to last about 10+ years...
Another fact, the price of a 30lb tank of R-22 is still lower then the replacement gasses...??..??
Things that make you go Hummmm!
Have a great day!

Is it true that the replacements are 10% or so less efficient than R22?
Thanks,
Ken
Hi Ken,
More like 5% but only when used in systems that they are not designed for Like R-22..
Hope this helps
