I would have to say at least $100,000. ;D
I think they are only worth around $20. Where do I send the check? lol JK
Let me tell you a story Clifford.
When we bought the frenchy-bus we paid for it sight unseen, wired the money to the PO's bank account. Then about two or three weeks later we got on a plane and flew out to Kelowna to pick it up. Our good friend Bryan picked us up and lent us his truck to go look at our new toy. Almost the first words out of the PO's lips as we walked into his yard were "I've got the manuals from Prevost for the bus but I had to pay $140 for them so I could sell them to you." I should have told the miserable cheap prick to stuff them where the sun don't shine but instead I quietly got out my chequebook and paid for them. I've never regretted having them but I sure resent that he got another $140 for them. That included the DD manuals as well as the 2 Prevost binders. So there's one data point - $140 Canuck bux 6 years ago. FWIW at that time the Canuck buck was about 72 cents US so $140 Canuck at that time was around $100 US.
Clifford,
FWIW, I sold one parts and one maintenance manual (MCI) for 100 each. So for a total of 200, I sold the set to another fellow on the board. He knew more about the value then I did, so it was a agreed upon price. Worked for me. That was just the coach manuals.
God bless,
John
Bob, i feel that if they came with the bus they are just as much a part of the bus as the steering wheel and should not be extra. Now if they did not come with the bus that is a little different. However if it was me i would just include them for the buyer. :)
For what we had already paid him Ed he should have gold plated them and begged us to take them. WTH was he going to do with them after he sold the bus? It was just miserable cheap pettiness but based on the rest of our dealings that wasn't unusual for him. I vowed that day that I would never speak to him again after we left his yard and no matter how sorely I was tempted on occasion I never did call him. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction and he'd have likely wanted to put me on the clock for any advice he might have been able to offer if I had phoned.
Speaking of manuals Where do I get some for my Frenchy Bus? it's an 1982 Le Mirage, a manual would be nice to have :)
Clifford, do you know how current production date that the manuals cover?
I paid $168 dollars for my 6" thick H series manual from Prevost.
When I bought my bus, the PO was the only former owner and he was seriously concerned that she would be well taken care of far into the future. He included a 20gal tub full of reciepts, manuals, etc. He also included another tub of fuel filters, oil filters, belts, electrical components, and everything that had ever been replaced since new, excluding filters. God rest his soul, he couldn't throw anything away. He just marked it "BAD" and tucked it away. It has been great fun going through this treasure trove of information and history. While working on remodel projects, we have even found old Polaroids of the PO and his wife that have fallen down behind things. I will forever be thankful to the PO for caring as much as he did. (Didn't mean to eulogize or stray from the original post-sorry) I refer to the manuals all the time and if I didn't have them, I would gladly pay what they're worth--and I'm a cheap bas...d ;D

Clifford, I bought a complete set and even received the original set from the PO's I paid about 160.00 for them I also bought a complete set of DD manuals for the 8v92, parts, maintenance, and user! They were never used and came sealed in their orginal package, for 100. These manuals have saved me a ton......in time, and searching replacements and parts numbers. Oh! the PO didn't charge me for them. I'd say the complete set you have are easily 350 bucks for everything.
Clifford,
I plan to purchase(steal) a late 80's or early 90's Pre XL in a year. That plan is contingent on my getting cataract surg on my remaining eye and knee replacements. Possibly hips as well. All of this from the VA so it is not cast in concrete, as plans go. I expect to have use for a World 5 or 6 speed and an 8V92. I don't think a "H" series Pre is in my future. Even of I don't get the bus I could still get some value from being of assist to Knuts that need help if they are in transit without docs or whatever. I am currently on the "assist board" for I5 from Roesburg to Salem, Orygun but that is only for tools or transport. No brains! The books would make me slightly more useful and it is a subject in which i have serious interest by itself. If you can split the setup to what I might need I would like to consider the investment on spec. Let me know please.
John
PS: I don't like Muddog. ??? :o :-\ ;) ;D ;D
John, new hips, knee's and eyesight, you'll be a bionic busnut!
I have to travel by bus. Can't get thru an airport. ;)
John
Anyone that has a Prevost can call Prevost parts and get the complete manual on CD shipped to them and all for free! Ask for the Catbase CD. Once installed on your pc, there's a list of different model Prevost. Has part numbers, decription, and diagrams that can be zoomed! All free! Takes up very little space and doesn't weigh anything! Just out of curiosity, how much for the H series manual?
Ace, the Prevost manuals (3) were sold to a member in Texas for 250 and he gave me 200 for the Allison WT manual.fwiw he had the cds and so do I the drivers manuals 2 were tossed into the deal for free
I have 2 brand new parts and maintenance manuals for the model 15 Eagle that shows the 60 and 92 series in a Eagle not copies still in plastic wrap if anyone is looking.
good luck
I'm interested in the Eagle manuals. Let me know what you want for them.
so if they are wrapped in plastic they probably haven't started to ru..........never mind, better not say that. ;D
Hey! That part about free CD's caught my eye. I would call Pre myself but that question about the VIN number of my bus would trip me up. Could somebody with a Pre call and get copies that they could send to me ;).....Please ;D
Thanks,
John
Hey John,
Maybe you could borrow this guys VIN:

That Pre was listed in RV trader for $58K. Be warned: I was told that it is probably one that was totaled in a flood in Texas somewhere.
John

Bad case of necro-posting, Chessie. Ace's last post on this thread was 2010.
Geez, I wish people would leave old threads in the past, and link to it, if it is relevant...
The ages of some of us... some of the posters from 2010 are DEAD.
Ace, still alive, just playing dead.
Happy coaching!
