With one wrong stroke I've lost an entire series of factory photographs showing how a slide mechanism was built. Does anyone know or have of a good series of pic showing the building of a slide room mechanism?
THANKS
Mitchell, I have a link for you showing one being built, this company will also sell you the parts!http://www.hbindustries.ws/jake_brakes.htm On the left hand side of the home page there is a title saying slidout day one, start there!

Hi Mitchell,
There are several ways to build a slide mechanism. Each design requires considerations to be made for surrounding structure and dynamic loading of the bus chassis. For example, I have three distinct designs incorporated into my bus for slides. One is a geared electric system and two are hydraulic. These differences were neccesary to assure the overall integrity of the bus chassis. From my personal experience I would take care in assuming one slide design is right for every circumstance. What type of bus are you considering installing a slide into? Let me know if I can help with any questions....
Oops! I forgot to add a couple of pictures. The first is of the basic rear electric slide system and the other is of the main slide using hydraulics. Hopefully, they hope answer curiosity if nothing else.... ;D
This is my first post but I've been lurking on the site for quite a while.
I've been looking for the "perfect" MC9 for quite some time and will eventually find "my" bus.
BJW, I've read that you took MANY pictures during the construction of GUS.
What would it take to convice you to share some of those pictures?
Possibly some pics during the construction of the fiberglass roof panels, or the modifications to your caps.
And pics of the slide installs and possibly the side framing would be great to see as well..
I believe Gus is one of the best looking MC9s I've ever laid eyes on. Great job!!!!
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the land of make believe Art!
We have many busnots here, some become busnuts, some just search for the 'perfect' bus.
We hope you come in and play with us often!

GO BUSSING
Thanks...
And what do you mean.... The land of make believe? Are that many people making things up rather than discussing or posting true information?
maybe I could be called a busnot at the moment. Though I WILL be making a MC9 purchase within the next year. There really is no question about it. I have a stick and staple that I've gutted and been rebuilding for a better fit. I already know that this is not going to be a perfect fit. Which is why I started looking into busses.
I guess "perfect" isn't really what I need... Just the right setup that isn't on the other side of the country...

Nope! ;D
Land of Make Believe: We believe that diesel prices WILL go down. We Believe that we have the best coach in the world. We believe that someday we WILL have this conversion done! ;D ;D ;D
HAHA!!!
Ok, I'm definitely going to like it here.
Too many people on internet message boards are uptight. Thanks again for the welcome!
And here's hoping that BJW will post some pics of the unbelievable bus. :) :) :)
I've already got a folder with every pic that's been posted so far of GUS (and many other nice buses as well). I am thinking of doing slides on an MCI as well. That's one of the reason I was wanting so many pics. I work for a defense contractor. That gives me access to a few engineers. I figure I could show them the pictures and get their input on how I should build the structure for my own coach. Nothing against your abilities BJW. I'm sure that your redesigned structure is quite well done. But I might as well take advantage of available resources. They don't have the free time to design one from scratch (not to mention mostly working with ships). But they could definitely give me pointers for my project.
I've got a fair amount of experience with composites. I've made molds, done repairs, etc. If there is any information I can share to do my part please let me know. I have some ideas for the front and rear caps that should be nice. It would be nice to see how you built the spoiler behind the front cap to cut down the wind noise.
