Title: Injectors check
Post by: 5B Steve on May 05, 2010, 05:44:10 AM

I was wondering from reading a previous post, how would you know if you had some bad injectors? I ask this because sometime

I get some "BLACK SMOKE" while accelerating.

Steve are you the one with a 8v92 non turbo if so that is normal under load at low rpms for a 2 stroke you can have most of it adjuted out but you will lose a little power at top end. It is a catch 20 you gain you lose

good luck

Steve, also try a little less throttle as you accelerate.   :)  With my 8V71 if the rpms are low in any gear and i mash the pedal i will get black smoke. I just let up a bit on the pedal until the rpms build up and then i can give it more throttle without any smoke. ;D

8V-92NA was a rare bird.  If I remember right it was rated at 365hp and about 1050lb/ft torque (or about the same as the 6V-92TA, but without the turbo, hence a bit less fuel mileage).  Good Luck, TomC
