Title: Freightliner Rockwell RR20-145 Good Axle to flip for a Bus?

shopping around on gear ratios and rear axles!!

whats the best axle to use for a bus swap???

Stick with a 23,000lb rear axle.  While the 145 series will take up to 1850lb/ft torque, it has a 15.31 inch ring gear and is rated up to 60,000lbs.  The 160 series has a 18.00 inch ring gear and is rated to 100,000lbs.  Good Luck, TomC

can you give me a truck that i should search for or axle id !!??

also the  local truck shops here cant tell any about my stock axle 

its a rockwell meritor  4.63 ratio

59743WX19    NK8361995

if i could find a complete 3.73 pumpkin or at least a exchange #

ch ebay motors there was a rockwell pumpkin new on there cheap under 400 if I remember

With big rigs, there isn't such thing as a specific truck I could tell you to use since they are all custom made.  Just look for a 23,000lb axle-you'll be able to visibly tell the difference between the 145 series and the 160 by its' size.  Good Luck, TomC
