According to news I-40 still closed around Nashville due to flooding...House hits cars on I-24 (floating) on you Tube...Hope we didn"t have any Busnuts effected....any one traveling that way ...hope it will clear up soon but news says water still coming up...concerned for all....Bob
We are in the Knoxville area now.LOTS of rain last night.
The area around Palmetto Cove and places we travelled through are also getting hit with serious weather. Having been there so recently makes it very personal, I sure hope everyone is OK.

Most of Nashville is still flooded.
Probably thousands of homes are affected.
Many places on I-40 / I-24 and
most other roads still under water.
OpryLand is under 6 feet of water as are the mall and surrounding.
I am 85 miles East and last night we flash flooded almost up to the bus,
Here at the edge of the cumberland plateau.
Got a little wet...
Quack, quack, quack.....
Is a noise I heard all weekend long. At one point I looked out on the lot and their was a flock of ducks or geese cruising the lot in a row boat wearing boots and slickers! ;D
We were flooded in here in Huntingdon on Saturday with all roads in or out of town under water.
Today I had a heck of a time getting to Murfreesboro, TN (S.E. of Nashville on I-24)
I had to take US 70 E to TN 13 (@ Waverly, TN) and go north to Clarksville to hit I-24 back into Nashville and down to Murfreesboro.
The worst part of it was that it took about an hour and a half to 2 hrs to get thru Clarksville, which is what it normally to get to Nashville in the first place!
Once back on I-24 it was 80 MPH all the way into and mostly thru Guitar town!
Stopped by in Smyrna, TN and met Ken Arnold a fellow busnut (super nice guy by the way) here on the board since I had time to kill since all roads headed anywhere I needed or wanted to go were still closed by TDOT for clean up.
Once I hit the road home I worked my way out to I-440 and onto I-40 on the info my sister gave me that I could make it to exit 143 on I-40 going west.
Well her info was better than what the temporary road signs set-up by TDOT said because one would say closed, but still be open, and the next would say closed, but be open. ;)
But as I kept rolling west my sister called and told me according to TDOT's website I-40 West bound was open all the way to Memphis. And I can verify it was indeed open to exit 108 which is where I jumped of to come home!

A friend of mine in the Memphis area said they were just told they can't water their lawns or flowers. Isn't that a bit of a DUH for them right now? LOL
We just left the koa In Nash wek ago and unfortunately the park is gone.... Some o our friends lost everything. The camp is completely submerged. Keep them in your prayers we are hoping when the roads open up again we will head from Nebraska back to Nash with supplies to help the 50 or so families that had been living in the camp.....
just got word from coastguard..they shut down Ky and Barkley lakes...this is where the Tennessee river and Cumberland combine a few miles before flowing into Ohio River..Dams on both are less than 4 ft from top and still rising...All power is cut to marine docks. will be highest level ever recorded..Ohio is already at flood stage and now will have to handle all the water coming into it...then to Mississippi...doesn't look good down stream....had staff at marina dump all food on boat..would be big stink without refrigeration...
Maybe flooding the Mississippi will flush the oil out to sea? :)

should be sending plenty of wood that way...

Saturday morning I started out from Oakland TN at 10am and drove to Collierville TN to pick up the band in relatively calm weather. The storm intensified while waiting on our drummer so we waited it out. We left Collierville just after the morning storms had subsided (11:30) we drove west to Conway AR just north of Little Rock for the gig at the Toad Suck Daze festival. We went though some strong rain but nothing that made us stop. It was cloudy but not rainy in Conway. We went on stage at 5:50pm it started to rain about 6:30pm but we played until about 6:45pm when they told us to stop after the next song. As we were gathering up our stuff the tornado sirens went off and the officials suggested we take cover in a nearby building. We grabbed our stuff tossed it in the aisle of the bus and went inside. Every thing calmed down and we were allowed out. There were some storms still floating around the area so we decided to stay long enough to eat dinner. At about 9pm we were on the road back to Memphis going through more rain and windy conditions. I dropped everyone off in Collierville and headed home, my head hit the pillow around 3am....
Sunday was a beautiful day...
.
Today on our local news the water on the way to the Ohio river will create 200 yr flood levels in Ky over next 4 days..the river fore cast keep jumping and still haven't reached a crest...Keep your families safe and buses dry.The water is from Tennessee flooding..
We were lucky we only received about 6 inches of that rain, there sure isn't much news on the Television about this............why?............Over a billion dollars and counting in damages!
