Title: Dual Wheel Gasket Required ??
Post by: Gary '79 5C on May 01, 2010, 09:54:11 AM
I have a rear dual off to clean the Al wheel. It was a replacement and tire service called that my orig. Al was damaged and he could install a used Accuride. I saw a used one weeks before and you could shave with the reflection. The one he installed spent the last ten years in a lake.

There is no gasket between the inner (painted steel) and the Al outer.

Is this needed. A great friend and resource advised me, No. But me still thinks I need one. Your thoughts.

I used them on my trucks, and also have them between my steel and alum wheels on the bus. You will probably get advice both ways, but I prefer to have them between dissimilar metals.    BUR
