Way to go FRED or if you know him Derf.
That was awesome! thanks so much :) How cool that was, not one missed shift eyes on the road, Yup that's a pro. Made me smile whilst watching, took me back to a time when I was much, much younger, felt good. thanks ever so much, great video! ;D ;D ;D
This is some of the stuff I look forward seeing on the board.
Thanks John
Very cool! I noticed he double clutched going up, didn't see what happend going down. I like the visors! Where does one get something like that?
I also noticed a large steering wheel, does the Scenic not have power steering? I couldn't hear what he said about driving an Eagle with manual and arms hanging down to the ground after driving one. I can relate to that comment! ;D
Thanks!
Paul
The Scenicruisers and the PD4104's that Greyhound owned all had Vickers Power assist steering.
The Scenicruiser has the same steering wheel as the PD4104 and the 4106 coaches.

Sorry Folks Fred had 38 years with Jefferson Lines not 30.

That was a great video. Those Scenicruisers are the 57 Chevy's of the bus world!!! Thanks for taking us for a ride on one of them.
Well that was fun! thanks so much for that. And was that Larry riding just behind Mr. Fred ? We want bus bash! again thanks it was a great trip!
What is the story behind the bus?
That was great! What a great looking and sounding bus. Too bad they only made 1000 of them. Good Luck, TomC
On this board 2nd page see Hounds of the Mother Road for info on the Scenicruiser. That is a restored PD4501 by Tom McNally in Peoria,IL.
For the question is it Larry Plachno sitting behind Tom yes it is Larry.

RE: the double clutch.

Yeah, I have a few Scenic Friends ;) 8)
JLV,
What a COOL video!
Its fun to watch someone else......who is paying attention.....drive.
I really liked when the camera went to the back of the bus....I have no idea what mine sounds like underway.
Going to have to let my better half take a drive between rest areas to see whats going on back there.. ;D

Right, like that's ever gonna happen. I don't think you could stand more than a couple of blocks with someone else driving your bus, let alone miles . . . ;D
I gotta find some funding so I can get one of mine back on the road . . .
That was a really neat video, thanks for sharing it! I'm a bit too young to have enjoyed a senicruiser (lots of seat time in the back of an Mc-8 though). I always wondered how it looked out of the upper section, adding this to my favorites list !
