Title: Need Information on Haldex Hydraulic Fan Drive System.
Post by: rv_safetyman on April 12, 2010, 09:15:35 AM
A good friend and member of this board sold me a great hydraulic fan drive system for my charge air cooling system.  I have had it check out and it is in great shape.  It is a great system with a two speed motor which should work great for my needs.  The pump is has two "stages", one for the PS and one for the fan.  I am installing a quick connect coupling on the fan side so that I can also operate my jack system.

The pump is labeled Haldex with the numbers 10200 and 61280126.  The motor is Haldex with the numbers 12200 and 61280121.

I have gone to the Haldex website and downloaded the fan drive document, but I can't find a way to cross the parts I have.  I have written to them, but no reply so far.

Kent tells me he thinks it is off a Thomas bus out of the late '80s/early '90s.  Anyone have any technical data on this system, or a cross reference to a current system?

Thanks, Jim

Pat and I always say that the way to get someone into your booth at the trade shows is to stuff food in your mouth - works every time ;D

In this case, I guess the way to get Haldex to respond is to post your question here.  Shortly after I posted I got a response:

>>>>>Haldex response>>>>

These are special W900 Series products we make for Daimler Trucks North America.

Daimler P/N 61280126 is our model number W9A126L3G24C03AXS  - W900 Series pump
Daimler P/N 61280121 is our model number WM9A125R3R64VNBJS - W900 Series motor

If you look are our W900 Series Hydraulic Pump catalog and Hydraulic Motors catalog, you will be able to tell basic specs based on the model numbers.

That response led to some pretty detailed literature on the link noted.  I have not had a chance to dig into the information, but it looks very detailed.

Is there any link between Daimler and Thomas 80s/90s?

Dave, when I got that answer, I wondered the same thing.  However, Kent was not positive that the system came from a Thomas.
