I'm sure the rv title was a relief. Looks like you have a great start.
Hi Robert,
You mention that '87-'91 Ford headlight assemblies fit your Prevost, I wonder if they will fit our MC8? What model Ford are the light assemblies from? Our headlights have been switched to 12 volt rectangular dual halogens and they don't work well at all on low beam. High beam is fine. I need to either fix the existing ones or switch to other ones.
Thanks, Sam MC8
Sam these headlights are huge single lens with turn signal in side...full size ford 87 Thur 91 .Maybe could be adapted;they use the h4 type bulb..the more I think about it should not be to much work and gives you a better turn signal set up..good luck Bob
Hi Robert,
I'm sorry if I'm being obtuse here, but when you say "full size Ford '87-91." are you talking about a full size car or pickup? I guess I'm not too alert today or I would be able to figure it out myself.
Thanks for understanding, Sam MC8

Full size truck F100 UP to F450!
FWIW ;D BK ;D
Sam, The h4 bulbs have 3 tangs on them ( one to high, one to dim and one to ground). On your lights with the 2 beams on each side you have one as high beam and one as low beam. Your high beams are working ok so look at the wires going to the low beams. I am betting you have the low and high wires going to them intead of the low and ground wires. I found out on my conversion that the dim plugins were not the same from sealed beam to the h4. Hope that helps. Later
thanks BK Ive been off line...it is the ford truck(full size) sorry about incomplete info...Bob
More good news have arranged to pick up 60series with Eaton autoshift next week.a matched set out of 2000 freightliner..from a fellow bus nut..thanks..it's coming together!
So the headlights are from an 87-91 Ford F150/250/350, also hear they used the same in Bronco's for those years, the auto parts suppliers will know the range of years and models (I check on ebay) I was wondering about the side turn marker since mine are cracked. You can polish out a yellowed headlight with compound, but new is always nicer, just not cheaper. Thanks for the info Robert and Bus on!
tieing the E code headlight post to this one. Daniel Stern (google) has some E code lights in that big Ford configuration. They are about 150 each but well worth it in my unasked for opinion.
I have no interest in Stern other than he found them for me cause the same size fits my rig, and he took care of importing them from Argentina.
on my 98 prevost I noticed the light assembly on passanger side had 87 ford truck part # (as part of extrusion) that led me to search on. The turn signal lens is missing from both sides;found complete assembly on EBay for 159$ for pair...You can get a kit for under $20 to buff them out at harbor freight..I needed the missing turn signal lenses so opted for new.
Headlight modification complete using the ford truck headlight assembly..had to make brackets to secure turn signal housing to prevost mounting bracket..used prevost buckets instead of the ones that came with ford truck assembly..about a hour to figure out and 15 minutes to do..started a thread on conversion in case someone else has the same problem..also talked to cabinet guy to do some bartering ;cabinets for slides. will post when things develop more...happy bussing bob

The headlights on my MC-8 were also very dim. They were 12 V. I found a resistor or something like it up in the left front wheel well just below the floor. I rewired and removed it from the harness now they are fine
