Just a reminder that Thursday and Friday will be the 2010 Scenicruiser gathering in Amarillo, Texas at "THE BIG TEXAN". I hope to see & meet lots of people there. Please let us know if you are going to make it. This will be a great showcase of the older GM buses.

Are you going to eat a 72 oz steak? The food is decent there, but not exactly great. Far better than the rubber chicken dinner we skipped.
I hear Pat McNeil will be there in his big red cruiser!
Y'all have a ball!
Man, Kyle, I still have a hotel room for ya if you want to fly out there. Then you can have the hotel limo come pick you up at the airport.
Aaron
I had written to Pat about attending. Was going to hide in the back row of the campground.
With all the bus issues we are having, we will not be able to make it. Hope you folks take a ton of photos. Sounds like a great rally!!!!!
Jim Shepherd
Belfert, only tourist eat at the Big Texan , the Cattle Exchange is were go for good steaks Hoffbrau's and Montana Mike's are better than the Big Texan if you are ever in the Amarillo area
good luck
Great news, Pat McNeal left Baltimore lunch time today on his way to the Rally.
Luvrbus, Sounds like good places to eat, but do they have room to park a bus rally? That is why we picked the Big Texan. It has a RV park with a hotel right off I-40
Aaron.
Would have to say that a Scenicruiser rally would have to rate at the top of the list for eye candy....... if you're a bus nut!!!! Maybe someday for me..

Well, I was a tourist. I was in Amarillo for a rocket launch in 2006. This was the only restaurant meal we ate in Amarillo. We were tent camping at the rocket launch and cooked our meals there.
I had just started on the bus that spring and it was nowhere near ready for this trip. Besides, there were only two of us on the trip.
I didn't even realize that the Big Texan had a hotel or RV park.
Aaron,
Is Pat going to make it tomorrow night? I would assume that would be allot of ground to cover by tomorrow night. Althought he does have the 60 ;D
I am getting ready to call Tom.

I was thinking of you BK when I wrote that!!!
WOW! One more is going to join us. Just talked to Greg Bush and he says he will be driving his Cat powered Scenic to the rally.
As a Texan transplant all I can say is this! You better post some pictures! ;D
When Pat gets there check his average time and speed.
bet it is good for a 50 year old bus
uncle ned
cannonball run good ;)
At 4:00 PM CST, Tom McNally reported that there was 4 Scenicruisers and one 4104 in the convoy heading west on I-44 towards Springfield, MO. They should arrive in Tulsa, OK. to overnight at about 8:00 PM.
At this time there is no report from the three or so Scenic's heading East out of Los Angeles, CA.
Aaron
Aaron,
PM me your number.
Bryan
Very cool to see six of these old Scenicruisers in various states of refurbishment. From Tom McNally and others keeping them seated coaches to Pat McNeils amazingly custom conversion. I took several photos today and will try to post some. Here is a link to a short video for those interested. will all of you scenicruisers leave on friday??
or do some stay for the weekend???
if some of you folks are still out there on sathurday,
maybe there is a parking space in the last row for an Neoplan
to look at some of your Busses.
Paul,
Ok I will be there with a shorter nose version of the Scenicruiser ;D
Bryan
I want to get a copy of that from KOTV.
To do that, I need to know the date & in which newscast it was aired.
They only keep it in archive for 3 weeks.
Can anyone tell me which newscast it was in & the date it aired?
Thanks!
Should have been 6 pm news yesterday the 7th.

Sounds like something to show at The Cove. Jack
Pat McNeil is talking about making an appearance . . . We'll have to wait & see if his schedule permits . . . .
Cool picture nicked from the yahoo scenicruiser12 forum
Just saw on the Scenicruiser 21 board that the Red Bull Cruiser showed up too!
Jack
Any pics of the Red Bull Cruiser?
Even P 51 Mustangs, Shelby Cobras and such have knock off kits. But not the Scenicruiser. What a beautiful piece of work.
From what I've heard, loads of pictures were taken. It will take those guys some time to sort thru them to start posting them.
I hope they hurry the hell up! ;D
What Kyle said!
Jack
You wanted them, here they are. Thanks Tom for the Pic's
Another one of my favorites, puts a smile on your face, thanks! ;D
Makes me wanta go out and buy some Red Bull so they can keep fuel in it..................Naw, don't think so! ;D
Nice coach!
I thought I had seen a photo where they had cut a door in the middle on the curb side. Anyone remember that?
Jack
Yes Jack I remember seeing that. Those super singles look good on the steers do they have them on the rears all so? ???

I don't know as if they are super singles on the front and I highly doubt it. they are however wider than the norm. I saw a lot of constuction trucks with that width of tire on the steers but they still weren't as wide as super singles.
Here are some of my photos:

Hi Tom.
Thanks for posting. That link takes you to page 5 of your album. It is real easy move between the pages, but I did not want folks to miss all the pages.
Sure wish we could have made it.
Do you have another one planned?
Jim
Great shots! I really like the night ones, pretty cool.
Can you supply the names of the owners with each coach. I"m not familiar with who owns what.
I'll bet you guys had a marvelous time. Sure took me back about 45 years or so.
Y'all picked a great spot to have it at the 50/50 point. Amazing work you guys have done! 8)
Paul
