Does anyone know where I can get the light for a 1982 Prevost license plate? It is a 24v sealed bulb from what I can tell.
Eddie,
I think if you Google "Truck-lite 15209" you will come up with the 24 volt clear license plate lamp with polycarbonate lens and housing. The grommet (you DO need a new grommet) is part #15702.
As I recall I had to deal with a bad pigtail on my license plate light which made the replacement a two-order process. One for the light, then when I found the pigtail problem ... one more order. Best you just get as much of the assembly as you can find then make one order. It has been a while so I don't recall the cost, but it was not too bad.
The other (and obvious) choice is to contact Prevost Parts to order it. Honestly, their prices are not out of line with reality like you might think the case. Best part is ... you can send anything back for a refund if it is not the correct part. I had to do that twice, although I hate to "test fit" things that way, but the salesman was very accommodating and understood my frustration.
Thanks Merlin, I think that is what I need. I was hoping a truck stop or something. It is the last thing I need to get inspected. Thanks again
I have found that prevost parts is best source and more often than not cheaper including freight.Bob
