Title: Magazine Classified - 4104 ad question
Post by: Runcutter on March 24, 2010, 03:46:52 PM
I just passed my issues on to a retired General Motors field engineer today.  This afternoon, he called me about a series of ads for 4104's, including a seated coach.  He tried the phone number, which apparently has been disconnected (or mis-typed in the ad?) The number is 919-553-eightyonefiftyfour, says to ask for JE.

Among other things, he'd like the serial number of the seated coach, and may be interested in adding it to his fleet.

Anyone have any information?

Thanks.     Arthur

Try this number: 919-60one-fourfour09

I spoke with Jeff's mother a few weeks ago (that might be her number) and he still had a few 4104s and a 4106 I think. I might have another number at home, but see if that one works.

Looks like Jeff is going to crush a bus in June.

Wish it were closer, I'd buy the whole bus for parts!

My experience with BCM ads was disappointment. Most seem to be way out of date. One guy I called about a 671 for sale was amused. He said he never placed an ad for a bus engine in the mag but did place one online and had sold the engine a year before I called?

I sent BCM an email complaining about this ad but it kept on running and I never got a reply.

I have spoken with new managment and I believe things have improved, but Pedco still is advertising a -9 with a S-60 (I think) that has long been sold, and there was a live in Eagle for 29k that my understanding is has long been sold too.

We are making progress....slow but sure!

It's not always the magazine's fault. When a classified items sells it is the resposibility of the seller to contact the mag to remove it especially if they paid to have it in for several month and it sold sooner. I know with the previous mag a bus was advertised an MCI 102 with a Cummins and I called and it was sold but months latter this person was still putting it in the mag.
Sometimes things are kept in to fill up empty space.

Dallas,

That was old management. I probably shouldn't have brought it up now but I'm still poed my two emails were never answered.

Those old mag ads were a mess.
