So, went out and bought this coolant today, http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/ORY0/FLEET.oap?pt=N0496&ppt=C0059 (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/ORY0/FLEET.oap?pt=N0496&ppt=C0059)
This stuff is red, I thought it was the green stuff. It meets GM1899M, which is what my DD manual says to use in a 8v71. It is also phosphate free and low silicate, and precharged with sca. Sure seemed like exactly what I was looking for, but it is red.
System is drained, but I'm sure there is still green stuff left. I know I read a post awhile back where someone said using red with some green still in there would turn to a brown mess.
Can I still use this coolant?
I switched over. I poured in a neutralizer/cleaner and drove 10 miles to mix it into the complete system. Rinsed out the system until the water came out clear. No problems in the 500 miles since then.

That is the right stuff. Personally, I would get the version of this that is extended life but costs twice as much so you don't have to change so often. O'Reilly has the extended life stuff too.
Brando, I would think that what someone was referring to is do not mix dexcool with anything else! Dexcool comes in many GM automobile products and it is in My opinion miserable sh*&$$. It is a orange color but color does not always mean much. Dexcool is not compatible with air or any other coolants. YMMV, John l
Whew, glad I don't have to return all this coolant! It has taken 6 flushes to get the water to run out clear, no more green.
Thanks everyone for your input. I love this place!!
