Hi Everyone,
In the latest issue of the FMCA Magazine, there's an article on "De-winterizing". In it there's a section on chlorinating the water system. They suggest 1/4 cup of bleach to one gallon of water for every 15 gallons of fresh water. The article says to let it sit for 4 hours then drain and flush the system.
I'm a real rookie at this. Sounds like good advice. Would there be a smell of bleach later? Is this common practice? Any downside to doing this?

would suggest by passing hot water heater.for some reason in my case it didn't clear out when flushed; took days to clear smell..My home water is treated from supplier..so I don't get that aggressive..If I've been on a unknown water supply I am more aggressive...This was discussed in detail about a week ago...how much bleach
I have heard that there is an ozone device that can be placed alongside a clear tube in the water system. By pumping the water through this device, it would kill the bacteria without tasting up the water. It is used to clarify pool water without chlorine. If a recirculating pump system to run the water through the ozone unit were installed, perhaps that would be an option?
