Title: Anyone know about the 4106 on ebay?
Post by: fortyniner on March 19, 2010, 07:09:37 PM
There is a 4106 on ebay that advertises six speed auto. Does anyone know what six speed would work in a 4106?

Sure. None.

You have one standard shift four speed available. Some of these buses were converted to two or three speed automatics. One person converted a three speed transmission to four speeds. Bill Teal, if I recall correctly.

For what it's worth.

Looks like a V-730 3 speed trans to me, unless it has a 2 speed rear end. I once saw a 4104 with a 2 speed rear end so I suppose it could be done on a 06.

I would say that it definitely is worth a serious look.  Seems to be in pretty decent shape from the pictures.

Pretty nice looking bus.   Wonder what the reserve is.
You guys are killing me with all these nice looking buses, if I wasn't so stubborn I would ditch mine and buy a pretty one with no problems....not that mine has any problems......other than being a little banged up..the wiring is a rats nest of haywire....the left rear beam has been blocked but the right hasn't....there is more corrosion than one would like on an aluminum bus....the interior is 70's shag and even I am embarrassed with the lousy bathroom....oh yeah needs new tires....hmm I wonder what the reserve is?

Vinyl records are making a comeback, so you might just want to hang onto that shag :) Peace Man

Would be a real hot rod to drive with the V730 transmission.  One thing I don't quite understand-the 4106 has beautifully nice, large windows, then the builder reduces down the windows with the interior coverings.  Granted, my wife and I adore large windows.  Our bus has 33" tall windows and the truck will have 36" tall windows.  We just like to see out when we're in.  Good Luck, TomC
