Title: Jake Brake Parts
Post by: rdbishop on March 14, 2010, 07:03:58 PM
OK Guys.

Does anyone know if I can buy just the micro switch for my fast idle buffer? "You were right Dallas, the switch hung up and killed the engine. It just does it sometime, like downtown Austin,Tx in the middle of rush hour."

You have everything!!!! I might just come get it to save the shipping. It also sounds like just one side engaging.

Richard, if the switch Dallas has doesn't work with your fast idle you can buy the rebuild kit for the switch with the rollers and pins from Jefferson in OKC is your slide and spring in good shape call me if you need a complete unit

good luck

It's just the micro sw. I messed with it today and it hung and wouldn't turn off. Now it's working like nothing happened. This is the third time its happened!! Everytime I checked it, It worked fine. Dallas told me thats what it was at the rally, but momma was ready to come home, so we did. Missed YOU!!!!

I had a friend here that had an extra complete fast idle buffer switch so I borrowed it, installed it and it works perfect. I do have a question about the switch. With the engine off, should there still be 12v on both sides of the micro switch?

One side Richard if the switch is adjusted right, do you have a 2 stage or single stage Jake system

good luck

Clifford,  I have single stage. I fed the hot at the dash to the two position Jake sw., then one wire goes to the hot side of the micro ,and the other side of the sw, goes to both heads. I had never checked it before and it's worked fine for many years.
