Hello The mci 7 brake relay valve does not have a designator but the part number is 4C-11-25. now during the mci 8 build era they changed to an R-8 valve 4R-11-1 which was used through some of the 9 era.
My question is the r-8 a drop in replacement for the earlier valve.?

Hi Mike & Folks:

Your MC-7 as built was equipped with an R-6 valve. The R-8 will work built will probably require some plumbing work.
