The benefits are just too numerous to contemplate!
Wasn't this technology used during WW2 to power vehicles with wood gasification? Methinks this is nothing new, just a rehash of older designs which weren't especially efficient anyway, but existed solely to fill a specific need at that time. I've seen pictures of buses with these Rube Goldberg contraptions on their roofs.
At least they should have used a Suzuki Cappuccino instead.
