Okay folks, our rally is just 2 weeks away now. So far we only have about 10 buses scheduled to be here. We have a couple of maybes and a couple of folks coming without their bus. We really would like to get a better head count so could I get everyone to let me know yes, no or maybe again? We want to be certain that we have enough food and supplies on hand and everything ready. If you say no but find later you can come please do so....this count is just so we can have an idea of what to buy. Dallas needs to know how many bullets to buy so he can shoot plenty of 'dillo's.

My wife and I will be there Cat. Probably Friday afternoon. Leaving the kids at home (Aunt & Uncle's anyway) this trip. Need some adult time ;D We are heading out from Tulsa about 7:30 am. Have a stop to make at JLV's place on the way down in Palestine. He may be coming down for the day on Saturday.

Mandy and I, the rug rats, and maybe the pooch are gonna be there...but the WT RV ain't gonna make it this trip. We will come in Saturday morning and stay till around 1 or so. I've got a gig in New Braunfels that night so we gotta hit the trail. At least we'll get a chance to meet some of ya, swap a few lies and such....

Because our conversion is a school project, do you think anyone would mind if a group of our students came for a day trip from Houston just to get ideas, and talk with other conversion coach persons??

Well, I guess I must have had a sixth sense when Larry and I discussed sneaking away for your rally. We knew that it'd be awful soon after returning from our maiden voyage in the Pray-vo, but we thought we'd keep our options open and maybe we could sneak away at the last minute, but we just couldn't make a committment until the last minute. I've watched the posts and kept my fingers crossed.
Well, a week ago, Larry's dad had his third heart attack and we've been hammered ever since. Between staying with and taking care of his mom, (until we realized we'd have to move her to a facility at least temporarily), to running back and forth to the hospital and then making some changes in his home for his eventual return, we've really "met ourselves coming". He got home yesterday, to the reality that we'd removed his wood heater and installed a new high efficiency a/c system, moved his washer and dryer to an entirely new location on the main floor, and a few other upgrades and changes that should allow him to stay in his home and eventually, bring Larry's mom back home again. It was pretty touch and go, as his heart and veins are in bad shape, as are his kidneys, so the next step is a video/audio? observation system to allow us to make sure one or both are safe and sound. Fortunately, his mom's advanced Alzheimer's, while making it interesting for us inexperienced caretakers, means that she's as happy as a lark with all the attention she receives in the nursing center. She's only been on Hospice a short time, but they've been wonderful about helping us oversee her care and needs, so that's good. I GUARANTEE you they are taking better care of her than Larry and I did. . .thank goodness we've worked together for years, so we could "double-team" things and lifted TOGETHER instead of against eachother! Some day, ask me about the adventures of sleeping at his parents house. . . well, maybe "attempting to sleep" would be a better description!
So, as much as we'd love to sneak on down and see you guys, it's just not happening this time around. We got home at 7:30 tonight, which is the earliest evening for us in a long time, and we just can't leave town right now. I really thought that maybe we'd be able to join everyone for what is going to be such a fun time, and I'm beginning to think that there's a conspiracy to keep us and Dallas and Cat apart! Maybe they're afraid we're going to give them our worthless cat (named Dallas, seriously!) in trade for their adorable ones! Anyway, I hope you guys have a blast, I hope the snow melts and stays away, and we'll just keep swinging at it! Christy Hicks

Yes, evening meals and we can do burgers for lunch. There is a small town grocery about 1 mile away, a Brookshire Brothers 14 miles away and a Walmart 40 miles away. We are okay meat wise but sides of any kind and/or deserts will be great. I made a huge batch of fudge today so we can munch on that.

I don't mind paying the fee for the night but I don't want to take a spot, not make full use of it and yall be short spaces for someone who will be attending the whole weekend. I am excited, this will be my first rally!!!!
I reqad the whole thread. Scondings are legal in Texas, but there is a state imposed limit of 10 per day and a possession limit of 20. ;D
We'll figure out something. She said because of all the meat maybe we should bring something else, desert, salad stuff or ?
Whatever she feels like fixing that isn't a lot of trouble for her. I don't know any specifics about anything anyone else is bringing. I figure if we end up with multiples of something we will just call it a cook off and enjoy it.

Yes to both. We have a good sized charcoal grill, a small charcoal grill and a propane grill. Someone else is bringing one also. I fill propane tanks but can't do the ones mounted in motorhomes. What day is that you are heading in? The sooner the better as far as we are concerned.

Richard, sorry I can't fill those tanks. It takes a different certification than I have. There is a place in Hearne that does. It's called Rachies (not sure if the spelling is right).
Rod, you don't need to bring bowls or spoons, we have both already. You can use the stove in the house to reheat the food.
We'll be heading out as soon as the suns up! I think we'll stop somewhere along the way and pick up some tater salad, or whatever else Becky decides on. ;)
