Maybe it is the vehicle assembled by somebody that took Johnny Cash's song "Got it One Piece at a Time" seriously. ;D

I think it already is.
Kind of cool looking. I would pay $5 for it. ;D Where is it?

That is a great song by Johnny!
It is an it.
It looks like someone had an idea that was akin to building an ark in the middle of the desert, and nobody helped him along the way.
Could pass for an oversized Desoto.
Was that part of a car he used for the cab? I guess the hippies weren't the first to put cut-down cars on tops of buses.
It's slightly evocative of this weird high-cab thing: http://www.mrsharkey.com/forum/vwtp.php?t=242 (http://www.mrsharkey.com/forum/vwtp.php?t=242) Did GMC make it as it is, or is it another DIY adaptation?
These expressions of individuality and resourcefullness are intriguing in a slightly macabre way. It would be interesting to know more about the folk who made them.

That would give a great view down the road and I guess it would get the driver out of the crush zone in most accidents. But lookout for low overpasses. :o

But it gives you some interesting layout options for the conversion. You could have a large bed under the drivers area.
About 8 years ago i was driving home when i saw something very strange coming towards me. It took me a few seconds to realize what i was seeing. It appears that it was an rv that was made out of a commercial passenger jet. The nose was cut off so it was flat and did not extend too far in front of the driver who sat very high up. It was unpainted and looked to be about 35ft long. Definitely different looking, wish i had turned around and followed him to find out more about it.
Looks like it might be based on an old GMC 30ft transit bus. Make a great party bus. Good Luck, TomC
There is a limo company in Chicago that has a limo made from the body of a 727. They say it rents for $40,000 per week.

Of course, there is also Neil Young's Eagle that has two old Buicks melded into the top of it.

Neil found a nice way to hide roof airs! ;D
