In my area they are having a Country Coach rally in Laughlin Nev at the Riverside I feel so bad for these guys their factory is out of business and 2 of the units burned to ground from engine fires yesterday probably would been a recall if they were still in business
good luck
Poor, folks.
Really I feel bad for them, but it is hard not to find it a little comical. I mean, two at one place.
God bless,
John
John, are you anywhere close to ALB NM we are heading that way today.
Fwiw one burned in Needles on I 40 the other at Bullhead both headed for the rally.
good luck
Clifford,
We are going to be rolling through there, before too long. We are pushing hard to get home. We plan on staying in Lymon, CO, tonight.
God bless,
John
Knock it off you two! You guys are giving all of us in the frozen tundra wanderlust !!!
Man what I wouldn't give to be out of this office right now rolling down the road in New Mexico.
Clifford, enjoy it for the rest of us. John at least your reply came from a snowbound state.
Feeling bad for those folks with the burned rigs. Hope they had good insurance.
Rick
Rick, I thought about the insurance how do you put a value on a coach no longer made.
I bet somebody gets screwed on this deal you know like the owners
good luck
Never thought about that...
You're still promoting travel envy in every one of us here that's north of the Mason Dixon.
Rick
Sorry, I don't want to let this thread drift too far....but...lol.
But, for the rest of you, we just entered New Mexico (on I-40). It is beautiful here. Blue sky, really neat rock formations, decent temp. This is very nice. But, we are running full speed (75mph) towards the cold weather. lol.
God bless,
John
Clifford,
I can see it now. The owner says it's vintage since no more are being made that makes it even more valuable. The insurance company says looks like scrap to me. Case in point remember the "Yugo". Bet ya don't see that as vintage. And both sides could very well be right. Round & round we go where it stops nobody knows. ;)
Clifford (or anyone else), if you get more details, please let me know. Obviously, I have a vested interest in these kinds of fires (prevention thereof).
I think I posted this recently, but at the tradeshows, a huge number of folks say that if their coach catches fire it is no big deal because the have replacement insurance.
I would love to know how these CC owner's insurance discussions go, and what their attitude towards a fire is after they have faced all of the termoil. I have talked to several folks who have had a fire and they DON'T WANT ANOTHER ONE!!! Some have been good customers.
Another observation I have heard, is that some folks wish for a fire because they are so far upside down on their loan.
Jim
You never come out ahead on insurance. Otherwise how would they pay dividends and build office buildings? My experience with insurance has been that they are always happy to cash my cheque but when the brown stuff hits the fan its time to call in the lawyers. What a lot of people have never realized about Warren Buffet is that his smartest decision of all was to buy an insurance company and hang onto it. That's where his real money came from.

Had I known you'd be passing through John, I'd have put out the Welcome mat!
I'm 1.5 miles north of US 24, about halfway between Colorado Springs and Limon.
Give me a heads up if you'll be coming back through later.

Bob,
I was told by an insurance company executive that a successful insurance company never dips into principal. All costs, wages and profits are derived from the interest earned on the money they take in. So if you're insured with a good company they still have the first dollar you ever gave them.
