Title: Blower belt
Post by: Ed Hackenbruch on February 14, 2010, 01:18:30 PM
I just found that i have a blower belt that a guy gave me last year that i can not use.  It is a Gates Tri Power  CX 109  that is 7/8" x 113"  or 22.2mm x 2875mm for our Canadian members. :)  I think that he had a MCI 8. Can't think of the right term, but it is what i would call "toothed". Free to anybody that wants it. I will even pay postage. ;D

Ed, you got my attention.  I used to be the blower belt expert at Gates for the Drag racing market.  Fun assignment.

Just to be clear here, I think Ed is talking about the belts that drive the blower for MCIs to flow air across the radiator.  That belt is what the industry calls a notched or molded notch belt.  Some folks use the term toothed belt to mean a timing or synchronous belt.  Here, the notches are to make the belt bend better around the pulley.
