Post by: cody on February 10, 2010, 03:36:56 PM
Need opinions on this lift thing, to load my power chair into the back of my truck, any ideas on it or anyone familier with the beast?  http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?function=Search

Yep, found that out, anyway it's a 500# capacity lift from U.S. General sold thru harbor freight, it's item number 47591-1AFH,  I can't get it to paste tho.   http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=47591 (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=47591)

I don't know sounds kinda hokey. to be that cheap. And 21' # 8  wire? really?

I'd go to a Harbor freight store and tell 'm "I'll buy it after you show me it will really work as well as the adds claim"
Then let them mount it on yer truck. (the wires can be run out along the side to test it!)
And test it, if it lifts yer chair without problems go for it!

Now if it does satisfy you. You just got free installation (- the wiring part ;) )

Now FWIW I'd take and mount a battery either in the back corner of the bed between the wheel hump and the tailgate in a weather proof box (or under the back corner of the bed) & run the wires from the lift to that battery and then use the #8' to keep it charged! JMHO!

We don't have any harbor freight stores anywhere close but it sure sounded wrong at that price, thats why I posted it. Anyone with a harbor freight store close enough to check on it?
