A company that makes energy efficient green vehicles will announce this week that it is moving to Greenville.
State Senator David Thomas tells News Channel 7 that an announcement concerning the company, Proterra, is scheduled for Thursday at the Clemson ICAR campus. A source has told News Channel 7 that 1,300 jobs would likely come to Greenville as a result of the companies decision to choose Greenville.
"Proterra" is a Colorado-based company that makes parts mainly for buses and trucks.
Numerous attempts to reach a Proterra company spokesperson have yet to be returned. Spokespeople for Clemson ICAR and the South Carolina Department of Commerce could not comment on projects or potential announcements.
